They can be destructive if left to their own devices for any period of time. Some have been known to eat an entire couch when left alone for a mere thirty minutes! Without the proper amount of stimulation, your belongings could be in serious trouble! Even then, you will need to keep a close eye on them.
While the Giant Schnauzer is open and friendly with his owner, the opposite can be true with strangers. They are generally very reserved around strangers. They are tremendously protective of their owners and do not take kindly to any kind of action they may feel threatens them or their owner. Usually their size alone is a great deterrent for trouble!
