Yorkshire Terrier

The Tibetan Terrier is a beautiful dog with a unique look to them. Although you may not think so, they have excellent eyesight. They also have a good sense of smell and an instinctive sense of curiosity. All of these things contribute to the type of dog that they are and what types of uses they have been used for over their history. Having this dog in your home can be an enjoyable experience and taking advantage of its skills is something you most certainly can do. You should understand what type of activities the dog enjoys so that you can be sure to provide them with activities that they enjoy.
While the actual history of the Tibetan Terrier is rather blurry, almost like the hair that falls into their vision, there is an accepted history of them. The first recordings of these dogs have them placed in the mountains of Tibet. Here, they lived and worked along with the monks that made this their home. Yet, it is widely believed that the Tibetan Terrier did not work during this time, but rather served as companions to the monks. During this time, they did not have a lot of work to do per se, but rather learned to be dogs that were ideal for friendship. In many stories of this time, the Tibetan Terrier is given from one person to the next, including from the monk to someone else, as a gift. They were also given to travelers as a sign of good luck. Rarely, if ever, these dogs were sold.
Through the generations, the Tibetan Terrier changed somewhat. They are not considered to be hard working dogs that you would find on the farm. Yet, they do have good herding instincts and when properly trained are more than willing to work in this capacity for you. The dogs are willing to work on farms as you need them too, and they are great for guarding the home from intruders. They are not aggressive, though and therefore will likely make a lot of noise as their guarding instincts.
While they may not be heavy working dogs, the Tibetan Terriers are very agile and they are very obedient when trained. They will enjoy hiking, camping, walking and other outdoor activities with their families. They are perfect for taking on a trip or even on a hunting expedition. Some dogs are good to take with you on a fishing trip as they are generally quiet and calm dogs when properly trained.
The Tibetan Terrier is a very smart dog and is willing to learn whatever you want to teach him. Invest the time in this and you will have a hard working and family friendly pet.
