A Professional looking Great Dane is the ideal show dog. If you are wondering if you can show your Great Dane, here are some of the characteristics to look at. Check the characteristics of your Great Dane against the following characteristics below to know if your dog is "Professional" material.
Height and Weight
The height of Great Dane male dogs is usually 30 to 34 inches or around 76 to 86 centimeters. On the other hand, female Great Danes are 28 to 32 inches or 71 to 81 centimeters high. Good Pedigree
You'll know if your Great Dane is professional material if they've got a sound mind, health, body, and longevity. Professional or show dogs of the breed are clear of all indigenous or inherited problems. Your Great Dane should have the right conformation of the breed. There shouldn't be any disqualifying faults. Your dog must show the breed's characteristics of being an athletic and sleek dog that has a strong and good relationship with humans. At the same time, if your dog is outstanding in at least a few of the conformation traits, then you have a big chance of having a Professional Great Dane!
Superior Traits
A Professional Great Dane is superior in most of the traits compared to other dogs. Your Great Dane must have an outstanding temperament and excellent health in order to be known as a Professional Great Dane. Your dog should be well-balanced and well-proportioned. By just looking at a professional Great Dane, you will notice its dignity and grace.
Color Varieties
The Professional Great Danes are divided into color varieties. They should fall under fawn with black mask, black, blue, black and gold, mantle, and white with black patches. If your Great Dane's color doesn't fall under these categories, it is not considered to be professional material. The fawn color is a tan color with black mask. The black and gold color features a pattern of brindle which is black stripes over a golden yellow color. The mantle color is a black color with white trims in the collar, chest, and leg among other parts of the dog's body. The white Great Dane should have black ragged patches and not like the Dalmatian spots. This is called the Harlequin Great Dane. The blue, gray, or brindled spots are not recognized as Harlequin Great Danes and will not be considered professional Great Danes. If your Great Dane is of solid black, blue, or tan, white markings are not acceptable.
