The Weimaraner is known as one of the best sporting dogs, and it has been used for hunting throughout its history. However, you may be surprised to discover that some Weimaraners have found a different line of work, and these are the Weimaraner Supermodels. In a way, it makes sense. The Weimaraner is a medium sized dog that is famous for its aristocratic look. It is a picture of grace and beauty, and it has a noble bearing that adds to its charm.

Due in part to the elegance that the Weimaraner exhibits, it has become a top canine supermodel. It was actually the Weimaraners of photographer William Wegman that made big waves as they became the most famous supermodels in the canine universe. The amazing photos of William Wegman's Weimaraners have fascinated a lot of people. His Weimaraners were photographed in unique and interesting poses, often decked in all kinds of costumes. What's great about the pictures was that the Weimaraners appeared to love every instant of their supermodel careers. They seemed to be enjoying what they are doing when they posed in front of the camera. Who would have thought dogs can be such exhibitionists?

It was in the year 1970 when William Wegman, a well-known photographer and artist, started taking pictures of his Weimaraners. When his wife wanted a puppy, they got Man Ray, a Weimaraner who didn't want to be left alone. Man Ray was very close to Wegman and always checked on what his master was doing. As you would probably imagine, having a tireless Weimaraner in a studio can be quite a nuisance. Tired of thwarting Man Ray's enthusiasm, Wegman came upon the idea of making Man Ray his model. Why not?

Man Ray proved to be a professional. A bond developed between the dog and his master. As the subject of Wegman's passion, Man Ray loved the adoration and attention trained on him. He shone in any costume and pose. Man Ray was having a ball! In no time, numerous photos of Man Ray were being featured in Wegman's exhibitions and the rest, as they say, is history. Soon, the star Weimaraner even appeared in magazines and other publications. At the height of his fame, Man Ray started appearing in television shows! For the record, Man Ray had been a guest on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, and even in David Letterman's The Late Night show.

Since then, William Wegman has been hooked into making his Weimaraners celebrities and stars. The subsequent Weimaraners he made famous included Fay Ray and her Weimaraner puppies. They have consistently appeared in calendars, and graced various T-shirts as well. Now, Wegman's Weimaraners have even been featured in a line of books for children. These books are based on fairy tales starring his adorable Weimaraners. Do you know the name of the Weimaraner who plays Cinderella? Just in the year 2006, William Wegman released his latest book called Puppies. Of course, you will see his latest Weimaraners in all their brilliant poses!
