Someone posted the other day about cleaning with Nature's Miracle and using a machine that would suck the urine and water back up out of the carpet. Is there a small one that you could just pull out easily to use when you find a mess? I am getting a new puppy and already have one that is not completely housetrained, so I need something convenient. I can't be pulling out a big carpet cleaning machine every time!
shop vacs are nice, but you don't have to use them. When Hunter would have an accident, I would immediately blot it with a rag or paper towel. I would stand on it sometimes so that it really soaked it up. Then I poured nature's miracle over the stain so that it would soak down into the pad. I would leave it for 10 minutes, and then come back and blot that. Or, when there is an accident, blot the accident, then pour water on it. Then blot that. Then pour the cleaner.
Me? I was joking...just about the paper towels. I laughed so hard that I need Nature's Miracle for the office chair. I was serious about the No-Go. I give advice to my puppy buyers all the time. I have used those products for years. My carpets are pretty shot. I'm not the one to ask about carpet care, but I'm good w/ housebreaking. Dog should be crate trained.
yeah... crate training is the best thing... My first dog I crated a lot because if I left him out, he chewed on everything. He was very easy to housetrain... Unfortunately, he passed away and I got another one. This one is so layed back and HATES to be crated. He sounds like a stuck pig when he is in there, so I have not been as dilligent with him and it definitely shows. He is 8 months old and he still has LOTS of accidents. With a puppy coming this weekend.... Yikes! That is why I was looking for an easier way other than paper towels.:)
O.K. I went to Walmart's website and I don't see anything on there about a green machine. I saw a "Bissell SpotLifter PowerBrush Carpet Cleaner ". Does anyone know the real name of the green machine or is that the real name? Thanks
I thought it was called Little Green machine. I don't own one, but I do have a hoover spot lifter in addition to my big carpet cleaner and the spot lifter does not have much sucking power, plus the battery is always dead and doesn't charge well anymore, so stay clear of that. I would probably look for something with a cord cuz I've had it with the rechargable batteries. They are junk.
Hunter's mom explained it. It probably is not good for carpets. The green machine sounds great, if I see one when I'm shopping I will check it out. Clean the crate and make sure you have a set routine for when he goes out. Give him a cookie everytime he goes in the crate, maybe an extra one when the door is shut. The crate is NOT punishment. Make sure it is a big enough crate for his comfort. Give him a rag tug toy inside. Use small cookies. I like Mother Hubbard brand. Kitty is 11 mos. old and still has accidents if she is not let out 1st in morn, after work, etc., or when I don't leave her out long enough to get down to business. I think they hate it as much as we would, but I watch them go potty, and tell them "go potty" when they go out and "good dog, good potty" the second that the deed is done. The 5 mo. old pup knot heads around when I put him out, but now goes potty when I tell him to. They need to focus on what's important first. If Kitty makes a mistake in her kennel, I tell her You go OUT to GO POTTY. word association there. The cage has a pan that slides out for cleaning, but I usually get a mop, bleach-water, and a fan. There. Is my attitude adjusted yet? (Kitty's mom goes back to her giggles, she thinks she is oh so funny) As to what is wrong w/ me...where shall we start?
I'm going to have to tell my bf about the green machine thing. He is a neat freak (I call him Danny Tanner, the neat freak dad on Full House remember?). Right now the bf's got a steam cleaner type thing and he steams the carpet like every other day! I always tell him he's going to grow mold or something because he's always doing it!! He goes outside and runs back into the apt, sniffing away..trying to see if he smells any odor of any kind. weirdo...
