Well, I personally like both, but guinea pigs are great pets to have. We had 2 of them a few years ago and they have great personalities. I know with rabbits I had a friend who would let it roam around the house and actually litter box trained it, but my guinea pigs..I would let them play with my dogs too. They're both really sweet animals.
in my opinion, both animals are great. they can both be trained to use a litter box, and both make wonderful pets. i have heard, and experienced that rabbits have a stronger odor than the guinea pigs do! good luck with your choice!
i have never had a guinie pig but i do have 3 raabbits, if you dont like the smell clean them out more. my rabbits are graet, the 2 big ones would love to play with the dog and cats, but we dont let them any more, lets just say one only has half a ear now : ( they are to hipper and always spray, so im going to get them fixed also one of them mad my other rabbit pregnent, i am going to get the males done first then the female. they are called cassie, milo and jake. it is best to get a female they dont spray much, the males are grat to but they spray a lot and it's best to get them nutered.
I was gonna say the same thing as Heff. It's a pet forum so it's not off topic. I have a rabbit. When I was growing up my friend had a rabbit that she kept in her basement, that thing stunk, mine doesn't smell at all so I guess it depends? Mine is super sweet and very tame. All I've heard is you shouldn't have both together cause the rabbit can hurt the guina pig. Good Luck in your decison P.S. Ours is a Holland Lop
Hi, I have raised both Guienea Pigs and Rabbits. and both make really good pets if you send alot of time with them. The trick to getting a good one is to get one from a breeder that spends a lot of time with them instead of someone who just lets them grow up in a cage. Of the two I think Guinea Pigs really develop the closest bond to their owner, not to mention they do not get as big. Rabbits do better with quiet gentle owners, Guinea pigs are a little more adaptable. Has any one else seen baby Guinea Pigs right after they are born? talk about amazing! The come out a running and whistling, then they just start eating food like grown ups. LOL It so shocked me when my Guinea Pigs had their first litter, those little dudes are crazy!
i saw baby guinea pigs being born !!! a friend of ours was staying with us for awhile and her guinea pig was pregnant. she gave birth while at my house. they are so adorable !!! just like the adults only small. we took them up to the bus stop and the kids all wanted them. that is how we got our dozer.
