As I mentioned in another post, my sister's dog, Forrest, has had troubles with his 'pee pee'. It gets erect and he strains and a little bit of pee comes out and this happens over and over. The vet did an ultrasound (and I'm not sure what else) and realised he has an enlarged prostate and said he needs to be desexed. Forrest is booked in on Friday. What will cutting off his two little friends do to help an enlarged prostate? Cheers
there are several different reasons a prostrate will swell . the most common being hormone induced that is why neutering is recommended. other problems include cancer. if he was ultrasounded they most likely didn't see cancer so that is why they want to neuter him. also infections cause enlarged prostrates.
