I have a pitbull, he is 7 months old and I love him to peices. However I think my loving him so much and playing with him constantly has made him a sissy or for lack of a better word, a punk. He is not agressive at all. Please give me some advice on how I can get my dog to be the agressive dog I purchased him to be.

You're joking right? It's INSANE to want an aggressive dog of ANY type, much less a pitbull. If your dog is loving and likes other animals, thank your lucky stars! Really, you should either read and educate yourself on what a dog should be or give your dog to someone who can appreciate him. You can stick to a stuffed dog with a leather jacket so that it can be aggressive-looking.

Have you ever owned a dog prior to this puppy Brucegirl...Because if you haven't maybe you should read about aggressive breeds before putting up a post like that..Be happy you got a friendly pit and when he needs to be protective he will be.

you have to be kidding. you should never want a vicious pit bull. you should never own this type of dog, if that is all u want. i wouldn't even sell u one of my dogs no matter how much u would pay me.are u in the right mind? keep your pit like a baby, that is how the breed is sopposed to be, please keep your dog sweet.i breed , train, and rescue this wounderful breed .its owners like you that are giving this breed the bad rap! please be a responisble pet owner. Maybe all of you should come to Jamaica and live even for a week before you start judging. A vicious dog is a necessity where I live. All of us can't be so fortunate as to live in the nice serene neighbourhoods in which all of you people seem to live. If you dont want to get bitten 'nuh come in me yard.' If this dog wont be agressive I will find one that will be. Trust me.

That has to be one of the most silliest things I've ever heard. Well first off maybe you should try getting a guard or protection breed that is obvious. (Rather than a people friendly breed)Then the dog shouldn't even have to be too aggressive, a well bred dog can be civil and well socialized but have good discretion and know when they need to show threatening behavior. Besides that it always seems like an excuse to me "I live in a bad neighborhood so I need dangerous dog", its not just Jamaca its people here in the city too. You wouldn't image how many times I've heard that. What might be best is to get a dog already trained in patrol, that way you have a safe dog that will know how to react in all situations. And yes that is pretty stupid to make a dog mean or aggressive, when it come down to it the only thing a dog like that will be attacking is an innocent person. When someone serious comes they can usually sense it and they react with some aggression out of FEAR and this person doesn't leave your dog will show its true side and run with its tail tucked. Either of the other two ways are both great ways to go. Getting a guard/protection breed with natural instincts or an already trained dog.

1brucegirl, your reasoning is garbage. There are plenty of hard, nasty places everywhere and an aggressive dog is not an answer. Also, if you'd studied dogs, you'd know ANY dog can be protective of their family. If you are that worried and can properly take care of him/her, buy a properly trained protection dog as True_Pits suggested. Personally, I think you should give up on dogs and carry Mace, tear gas, or anything that is not prohibited by law.

The sight of certain dogs would make anyone think twice before tresspassing.Jamaica is not the same as here.They don't see their dogs as wonderful companions but as possessions and pests. Its just a different way of life. I'm noyt going to judge this because North America has alot to be ashamed of.Look at all our homeless pets.Abused pets.I'm not saying I agree at all with the way they do things , its just sad.

I trust you will find a vicious dog but your reason for wanting one is flawed. The mere fact that you can speak of having a yard and have access to the Internet tells me you are not living in a hut in the ghetto. You are obviously frightened and insecure. Probably concerned that you are living well while others near you struggle. Just be happy with your good dog and he'll protect you and your home. I have a Lab mix that loves everyone. However, if someone approaches my fence he sounds like a killer.

Do you not see the discussion about BANNING pits or the discussion how pits are not supposed to be mean but the owners mess up there whole sense of nature... why do you want your pit to be mean??? Thats dangerous on you, other people, as well as doing harm for you pit!!! say for instance he got out a bite someone.. theres a nice lawsuit slap and your pit will be put to sleep!! so much for loving him.. why would anyone want there dog to be mean??? You apparently dont care to much about him since your wanting to plan out his death sentence!!!

ooohhhhhhh im shaking.. Jamaica.. with the nice ocean and sandy beaches PUH lease... I live in arkansas that is 90% ghetto and what isnt is slowly becoming one... why dont you come and take a walk on my side where you get jumped for BUS MONEY... I would never get a dog for protection.. If you knew anything about the breed you would know pits are very protective over there loved ones, you need to research the breed its ignorent people like you that keep up from owning pits in certain places and also the bad reputation of one.. get a life and go some where else... Jamaica..lol geez what will they think of next.. LOL

:) Public... someones gotta break it to her.. My brother owns 2 pits, one is a little slow but adorable, and the other is a fat a** but I love him to death!!! and I know if my brother was in any type of trouble, BookerT (pitboy) would tear somebody to pieces butter rolls and all!! lol.. maybe my brother ought to educate her on pits..!!!
