Look at this. Of course I had to email him and ask him what makes him that by mixing these dogs that he will make purebred dogs. He has not responded back to me and I am sure he won't because I was not very nice. He really thinks that by mixing a Neo Mastiff with a Pit Bull that it will make Cane Corso's and so on. Take a look at his ad. Not to mention he is asking $1000.00 stud fee for a ACA registered 14 months old dog that he wants to breed with other breeds of dogs. I am sure this dog has had no genetic tested either. Here is the link. What a joke!!! http://www.hoobly.com/l/51153/neapolitan_mastiff_for_stud_hire.html
Yes, definitely another uneducated person trying to jump on the Bandog bandwagon obviously with dollar signs in thier eyes. Cane Corso's are an Italian Mastiff and an established breed. You do not get Cane's by crossing a Neo to a pit, although they do resemble some of the Cane's out there. There are a few really reputable Bandog breeders out there. They breed there dogs to work, testing and culling thier program's hard. I respect those breeders and wouldn't hesitate getting a dog from them. I do however hate seeing breeders like the one in your link as they only have money in mind. For those that don't know, a Bandog is most commonly a Neopolitan Mastiff crossed with an APBT, although many bull to mastiff crosses are being classified as Bandog's nowadys.
Thanks....and yes her ears are cropped. They do look funny when they are puppies. I need to put some updated pics up. Her ears look alot different now. But corso's ears are normally cropped pretty short.
Beautiful girl you got there! I love Cane's and if I didn't already have my hands full with my AB's, I would add one in a heartbeat! I have taken a few into rescue, (seems to be quite a few in CA) had a good friend with two of them and have seen some at protection events and weightpulls. Awesome dogs from the right breeders. Where did you get yours if you don't mind my asking? Again, she's a cutie.. best of luck with her! You can check out my bunch at my website http://www.parkinsabs.com
yeah they are very simular to a pit bulls ears. Here is a link to a breeder and she has some very nice dogs and all of their ears are cropped. Some are done shorter than others. It depends on the vet you take them too. http://www.stormywinnscanecorso.com/
Thanks Bully! I love AB's as well and would love to have one but as you can see from my dogster account my hands are pretty full as well. Here is a link to my breeder and I will be getting a male puppy in January. Donata is very special to us. She is doing great with her training and we plan on entering the show ring very soon. Your guys are beautiful. Yeah I know there are quite a few Cane's in Ca. NJ and NY rescues are full of them as well. Here in NC there are only about 15 Cane's in the whole state. http://www.stormywinnscanecorso.com/
Yeah, I noticed yall were talking about cropping ears, but I have a question. My Bostons ears are supposed to stand up naturally, I do not want to have them cropped, but they have not gained full control of them yet. How important is it to tape dog's ears? How much does this help in the long run? I probably won't do it but I would like to know more about it anyway. My friend bought A Chinese Crested and the breeder told her to have his ears taped, that is kind of what started all of this, I had never had any of my other dogs with stand up ears done anything with.
If you want them to stand then taping is very important. But, I hate to see a dog with all the tape and the post on their ears. I used toupee glue and the foot insole pads that you buy for your shoes. Just measure them against your dogs ears and then cut them to size and use the toupee glue. It is very light and the it doesn't interfer with the ear breathing. And the glue comes off very easily.
have you checked out the htread about the adronicus mastiff ? another guy mixing breeds to make a new one. i forgot now what he is mixing together, but i swear some of the pic's he put up look like cane corso's or at least looked like they had can in them. especially one pic of his black one with the cropped ears.
Yeah Scout I saw that. He will not tell what he is mixing with though. It is like the Maso Mastiff which is a Cane and a English mixed. I don't get why people can't leave well enough alone. Thanks Red!!! Yeah I love my breeder they are very nice and informative. I call them all the time about Donata. They do alot of showing and they are really helping me out with her.
