http://www.dogster.com/?65923 http://www.dogster.com/?66003 I love big dogs, anything under 200 pounds isn't a dog... just kidding. I love all dogs but big dogs are my fav. St. Bernards have to be my breed of dog. But, I think I may get an Alaskan malamute or Siberian husky.... Why am I posting this? Well, I am going to be getting a dog, not a family dog because I am going to college!... wait that’s a bad thing, any who, I have been trying to find which dog to get for about... oh three years now. The time has come now that I have to seriously think about the breed. Malamutes and huskies are extremely different, and it has come down to those two Right now I am in California, but I will be moving to Alaska within the next three years. I want to show the dog and I just love malamutes personalities… but I also loves huskies… I don’t know….anyone know any extra hands on facts about siberians?
the large and giant breeds have always been my favorites also. siberians are extremely active dogs and don't often do well as a family pet. malamutes are on the other hand a little calmer then the siberians. though they still need their fair share of an energy outlet they tend to be calmer in the home then a husky.
I have a Saint Pup. She is about 6 months old now. All she does is eat and sleep also. Every so often she'll wake up full of mischief! We are about to add a second Saint pup to the house. Molly loves to be outside even in the cold. Your Brandy is a doll. Good luck with your search for a new pup.
I'm weird. My favorite breeds of dogs are chihuahuas and English Mastiffs. So I have the extreme ends of the spectrum going on :) When I was a kid I did junior dogsledding and I found the Alaskan Malamute to be a very good breed, especially if you're moving to Alaska as they are used a lot in the winter to get around (if you live in a small town like my cousin, she uses a dog sled team to get to school). They require a lot of grooming, but one thing I have always liked about the breed is that after only a year or so they really mellow out. Course, that could just be the ones I was around.
I prefer to have bigger dogs. Small dogs like Yorkies seem to be so fragile. Also I would worry about them slipping out and getting lost. My daughter email me about a lady who lost her little chihuahua. She's been putting up flyer and posters every where and offering a large reward. I feel so sorry for her. I wish someone can find the poor little thing. Here's the discription. http://pic12.picturetrail.com/VOL426/2022762/3916770/72289657.jpg
Good luck with everything! I found a website for Siberian Huskies. It's a kennel but it also has info about Siberian Huskies. http://www.mikaylakennels.com They have very beautiful dogs and puppies. I do like larger dogs better than smaller ones but I like all dogs and I have owned both small and large. I own a Golden Retriever right now.
I like all breeds of dogs. Giant dogs are one of my favorites! If your looking for a big dog, I suggest a great dane, they are wonderfull, beautifull dogs. I also love Siberian huskies. I have always...they are so cute! specially ones with blue eyes.
Trust me Danes do not like the cold. My poor Oscar sleeps with a fuzzy blanket at night and during the day he goes right out and does his business and he hurries back in and climbs in bed. And I live in North Texas, but we have actually gotten to 38 degrees so far. I need to find a sweater that will fir him. Alot of people but their danes sheep swearters so I guess thats what I will do. http://www.dogster.com/?50558
