hey, my female dog is in heat, and i would like to breed her. yes, i know the expenses and such and the responsibility, so please, just help me with my question and thats it, dont preach to me. anyways, she's in head and my male is humping her non - stop and i've counted the days and she's in the time where she should be breedable. she lets him and puts her tail to the side and rubs up against him and stuff, but he just doesn't get all the way into her...he gets right there but never actually goes far enough to penetrate her, i'm not exactly sure if it's because he's inexperience and won't get it, or if he's just too excited or what...but he's been at it for a few hours and still nothing...
Well, since you ask me not to preach, I shall not. I am glad (or I hope) you have done your research. Anyway, if he does attempt, he should penetrate. Does he quit then? When they do tie, let us know. How many days has she been in heat? You said on the other post she is a bit over a year. That is way too young. Imagine a 14 year old having a child. That is too early, right? You should wait until the 4th heat cycle. Then the male will be 6. ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
she's been in heat about ten or so days. she's letting him mount and she's standing for him and no, he doesn't quit. he pauses for a few moments then goes right back at it. he's been at it since about 2:15 eastern time...its not 4:07 and he's never penetrated her, even though the one time he came all the way out and sat around on the floor for about 10 minutes with 'it' out cuz it was too swollen but he hadn't gone into her. i dont know, maybe he's just a bit too excited?
I am not sure, but I think you should wait. A one year old dog is like a 14 year old having a child, which is too young. ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
Is this his first breeding as well as hers? If so, you could be right about him just being to excited. Give him some time. You may not end up with puppies this heat cycle. But don't worry, she's come into heat again soon.
Is it possible that you have mis-counted how long your female has been in heat. She has to have been in heat at least nine or ten days. Allie, there is a fouteen year old girl in my neighborhood, and she is happy as can be. NOW! I really do not like you taking part in this sex talk. Go watch RugRats. LOL!
1) my male dog, spaz, is very intelligent, very well 'built' and is just a very good dog 2) my female, baby, has a very sweet temperment, is a bit more petite, has lots of energy but knows when to lay back and relax i think a mix of the two would make very good puppies. i already have people that want any that i would have, and i have made sure they're VERY good homes. yes, puppies are cute and it will give me something to do, but i think they could create some very nice pups. i would be keeping one for myself and it's not for money or just the fact to have 'cute little puppies' around. i know it will take money and a lot of work, but i'm willing to do that.
Please be sure to do research on each dog's lineage. Breeding a dog is more than just sticking two well-behaved dogs together. Pups oftentimes inherit temperments and health problems from dogs further back in the line than just mother/father. ~Seij
yeah, while i planned on helping him, he just gets too excited and goes faster and i cant...he's lined up perfectly most of the time, but he doesn't penetrate her. and yes, i have looked back into what i could of their parents and grandparents and such.
(uhm, because i kno the ppl that bred them? the female i got from my aunt and she bred the great grandparents to get her male, and bred him with a female she got from a friend and she bred one of her females from that litter and got baby...and my male dog i kno too up to the...grandparents tho on that side...)
