I thought the article was interesting. Thanks for sharing Acey. I don't let Hunter sleep with me, he sleeps in his crate. But when I watch movies on my bed I let him lay on the bed with me. I don't have anything against it, it's just that I am a bed hog and have a hard enough time hogging the bed with hubby in it. hehe :)
Yes, our puppy sleeps in bed with us. We could not resist the pleading eyes. Sometimes she sleeps under the comforter at the foot of the bed but more often than not she is lying right against me or on top of my head or against my face. On some rare occasions she sleeps right next to my husband and it is funny because deep down that tickles him to death because he always feels she is more attached to me. I thought the article was cute.
Oscar gets in bed with us at around 6. He loves to snuggle with me and he even uses a pillow. Oscar has been in bed with us since we brought him home as a puppy. I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get another Dane.
I thought that artical was incorrect. My dogs think I am the alpha dog. They love sleeping with us. I wouldn't know how to tell them they can't do it any more. They would be heart broken. Of course 5 dogs in the bed is a little uncomfortable at times but I still let them.
Our 2 girls sleep with us every single night..I grew up with dogs allowed to sleep in the bed..never had problems with dominance or any type of agression shown towards me. They know I am Alpha. That was an interesting article...but I love my babies to sleep with us..snoring, grunting (from dreaming) kicking me, laying on me, dog hair and all :o)
I love sleeping with my puppies in bed. Well....lol, sometimes I do. Except for when Summer sprawls out parallel and I end up in the corner smushed against the wall. lol. I actually didnt read the whole article, but I just thought the part about the cats marching up and down the author's hubby and peering into his mouth was hilarious.
I read that this morning too. I thought it was kinda funny how they said it makes the dogs think they're the alpha or something like that. Mollie has slept with me every night for the 3 years I've had her. Now we have 3 dogs and we sleep in the bed with all of them. It's kinda crowded but it's cozy.
My animals only sleep with me in the winter time because they get cold. I admit to having some early dominance problems with the standard poodles, but when they growled at me for moving in the bed or pushing them out of the way, I just kicked them out! No poodle likes to be in hot water! Several times they were not only dumped out of bed, but kicked out of the bedroom as well. That solved THAT problem. I don't have a husband, so I have plenty of room for two dogs (one medium and one small) and one cat. My new cat is still afraid of the dogs so he sleeps alone. Yesterday I woke up and found the dog using the cat as a pillow!
my dogg sleeps on my bed and she knows who is boss not her anyway lol. its only with closley related wolf dogs that you have to be careful such as huskys and malamute (which are 2 breeds i love) that article was so silly
Avary sleeps with me every night. Starts in the living room lately, but i usually wake up during the middle of the night and she is at my feet every time. then in the morning she has somehow managed to get her head RIGHT next to mine. Its the same every night, lol. I love it.
