I remember when I started on TP and many people advised you should not let your dog sleep with you, as aggression issues may then develop. Well, I am not in anyway refuting what they said, as I am sure they had some basis in saying that with their own experiences. I am just glad to see that other people are like me, and couldn't imagine having their furkids sleep anywhere else, but right next to them. Every morning when my alarm goes off, Ducan gets up from wherever he is on the bed and comes close to snuggle for a few minutes before I have to pull myself out of the bed. It is our special time together before the craziness of the morning. I met a guy this summer that told me he couldn't imagine sleeping with a dog in the bed. Well, that did it for me - that guy then sure wasn't going to ever be in my bed.
I usually let Ivan choose what he where he wants to sleep. He usually chooses to go to sleep in his crate, but when my husband goes to work in the morrning(he leaves usually 2-3 hours before i do) Ivan takes My husbands place in bed. Although lately he has decided that he wants to sleep under the bed, which i don't like...it just makes me too nervous(sp). So I have locked him in his crate a few times this past week. He snores but it usually doesn't bother me. I think when I get my second dog I will get them a bed that they can share. But I guess we will have to see when the times comes. LOL
SBP - no kidding! I remember one of my friends making it a requirement that any man she dated needed to love her cats and they needed to like him too. I thought she was kidding until I got my Duncan. Now - no man need apply - unless my dog likes him - and heknows his place in reference to Duncan. Duncan was there first.
