~Viewer Discretion is adviced~ Look at this and you will see what a desperate dog will do to 'get' the girl. Just for those people who "can't imagine how this dog and that dog could be together"........here's how... http://www.extremefunnypictures.com/funnypic361.htm
Thanks for the info. I must say I did not find it funny. I guess I was busy think that the female looked like a pup still and the male may be stuck. I think the person should put down the camera and get his dogs fixed.
When a dog is 'together' it is best to not bother them, mostly because if the male leaves to quickly, he can injure the female and sometimes it can be fatal. Also, it is hard telling if either dog was the persons taking the picture. I have seen dogs, 'getting along' while I walked by. You are a bit too quick to judge, I think. I agree, that they should be fixed but that is not our decision. Also, you cannot really tell the age of the female in that picture. You cannot even tell for sure what breed she is. If she is in fact a breed, she could be a mix of something....you never know.
KatzPomDogz Sorry if you thought I was a bit to quick to judge on this. Here are my thoughts: If this is a Breeding the pups would be mutts. The female looks young (puppy still??) So lets say she makes it and has 6 pups. The owners who did not have her fixed and allowed her to wounder and get bred, now have 7 dogs. Lets say 4 live because they really don't know how to take care of pups. So they give 3 pups away and keep one. Or maybe they give mom away and keep a unfixed male. Or they just can't handle it and take them all to the pound. Anyway you look at it you get more mixed bred dogs, owners for whatever their reasons, allowed her to mate and now more unfixed pups/dogs. My thoughts were this, chances are out of the 8 dogs/pups, 2 or three might end up in a great or even good home. The rest........ sad. As to the picture. I hope it opens some peoples eye as to what little Pooky can to with Big Bertha dog. For that I say thanks. If even one person who sees this gets their dog fixed or at least keeps them protected during their heat, you have saved pups from what mauy not be a great life.
paulalynn I understand your feelings but I really think this picture/post was meant to put a smile on people's faces and help to lighten the dreary mood which has overcome this forum recently. I personally found it hilarious! My old neighbors in Denver actually had a Rat Terrier female and one day when they returned from work they found her and the neighbors Dalmation locked together. The Dalmation had somehow gotten over an 8 foot privacy fence and then squeezed through the doggie door which was built for a small dog. You can only imagine my neighbors surprise when they walked in and found the two together.
That would make some very interesting puppies GinaH! Paulalynn, Still do not see where you get the age of the female? Also, you cannot even tell if the dog is 'in' My male is 8 months old and has tried to 'do' anything on four legs. How do you know that the person taking the photo didn't stop anything before it started. I am sorry but yes I think you are looking to far into this. It was meant as humorous. Why? Because people are always making cracks about animal breeds on Petfinder, etc. and how they 'could never mate' usually do to size differences, this was just to show that what a boy wants......a boy gets! No matter his size!
That female could even be fixed, or the male could be fixed. My poodle (un-fixed female) always plays with my friends poodle(fixed male) and he always acts like a stud, even though her really isn't one. Yes it would be sad if the female got pregnant, but it could just be two dogs, that are fixed, but still in love.
yes, interrupting them would not be very nice. the males get "bulb of the glans" when they begin breeding, and it becomes engorged with blood and it can take 15-20 minutes for them to seperate after they do the deed. ha....you wouldn't want to be interrupted now would ya? ha
