I was on my way home from work yesterday and saw a small terrier type dog chained to a pole with no water, no food and no shade. She was just sitting there in the front yard of what appeared to be an abandoned house. I stopped and asked a neighbor about her. They knew nothing, except that the previous occupants of the house had moved away a week ago! This poor animal had been chained to this pole for a week!!!! The person I spoke with had fed her a few times. I decided to take the poor dog home with me, bathed her, fed her and gave her a warm place to sleep. She is such a precious dog! This morning I took her to my vet for a checkup, shots, etc. She appears to be ok, hopefully!
I have name her "Precious" because the name really suits her. She is black with some brown on her face (eyebrows and on her chest. She has a long fluffy tail that she wags all the time! She looks like maybe a terrier mix - has long whiskers and about 8 lbs. I realy can't tell what mix she is, but she is adorable. I really do not need another dog - already have 3! But, I couldn't resist her!
Good on ya Doglover! That's great. I am surprised the neighbors didn't do more to help her. If I knew someone had moved out and left their dog chained up..I wouldn't have kept her out there, but good thing you came along when you did, otherwise this story might not be so happy.
Hopefully you can get some pictures of her up on dogster.com and we can see your little Precious girl :o)
