I allready own a larger dog, a Lab, but I have heard that the Bully Breeds are the worst at chewing and such. I was just wondering if anyone knew any tricks of the trade, besides the obvious, that they could let me in on. The dog I will be owning will be a male amstaff. So if anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
LOL Chain everything down! :) Just kidding. Am Staffs are a fabulous breed but notorious chewers. I have found my experience w/them is that if they don't receive adequate exercise, the chewing is exasberated. So I would highly recommend lots of outside play, running, etc and lots of natural bones. They seem to be the best at lasting.
I usually would buy a hollow natural bone and fill it with cheez whiz or velveeta and say "have fun"! It takes them a long time to get the stuff in the middle...
Ha! thx man. I've read everywhere, and heard people say that a tired Bully breed is a good Bully Breed so I fully intend on taking the pup jogging/hiking with me. But thx for the tip about the bones, will def. have to do that one.
Raw soup bones are good for strong chewers. I freeze them before my dogs get them so they last longer. DO NOT cook the bones. They will splinter and could get lodged in your dog. The raw WILL NOT make them sick.
