hi i am thinking of getting a pug are they good with other animals and children do they need much exercise and is it true that they bite a lot as my friend has two and they both bite or is she training them wrong, is there anyway i can train him/her not to bite when i have mine thanks for all your help
Pugs are not for everyone. They shed a lot, can not be left outside in a backyard, can not handle the heat at all. They need to be a part of the family indoors with the AC. Most Pugs snore. Pugs tend to be better with kids in general, more so than most Toy breeds & they usually get along with other animals. The real question is not, are they good with kids, but are the kids good with dogs? No dog should be expected to put up with ear pulling etc. As far a biting, I never had that problem with my former Pug who lived till he ws almost 15 yrs. You have to be careful with the Pugs eyes so they don't get injured. They are fun loving little clowns. I hope this helps!
Pugs are kind of strange dogs. If you don't like dogs that make noise, then don't get a pug! They grunt, snore, and make weird noses. This is a result of their smooshed noseys. But they are adorable, and of course all dogs need exercise, but the pug doesn't call for a lot.
My brother has one and god I have never seen a dog shed so much, I sooooo apreciated my dog when I came home, I thought he was a shedder. I have learned that there are single coated pugs and double. Try to get a single coated one. they would not shed as much. Learned that on a pug forum.
