I just got him yesterday he is 8 years old ,and seems to be such a good boy.But this morning after taking him out to go he came back and hiked his leg in the house, the people I got him said he was housebroken. Is this maybe because he is in new enviroment? He is also very thin, is there something I can feed him to fatten him up? I know the previous owners took very good care of him and the vet records show no problems. He seems to be eating ok, by the way what is normal feeding for a older small yorkie (4 lbs.)? I am all to new to this "dog" thing, Help Thanks ,Debi
I mixed a little canned food with the kibble to get layla interested. She was a picky eater when I got her and very, very thin. That really perked up her appetite. Since then, I am wondering if she's getting too fat. Before, her ribs were sticking out, it was gross. Now you can just barely feel them.
Any dog in a new environment has to relearn housetraining. Whenever I babysit a dog, it always wants to go in my house, to their owners embarrassement. I have to really watch them. He may be marking his new territory. Go back to square one housetraining.
Ok,thanks for replying.Iwill try that and see if it helps him. He too has bones sticking out, back and ribs.It feels horrible!! So I guess Im off to get some canned food. Im currently feeding him (shadow) Eukanuba Adult maintenance. He seems to like it, but I have to hand feed him. Debi
