Anyone know anything about calcium suppliments ? I have a dog with a previous pelvic fracture (a year ago), and another breeder told me calcium would aid in repairing the fracture further. However, I have always heard that calcium can cause excess bone growth and should not be given. Anyone have any experience in this ?
This pet sounds like it is an adult so. I would not do it. there should be enough calcium in the animals diet. If the pet is showing discomfort like arthritis then Glucosamine is the answer. The pet will heal just fine. Excess calcium will cause skeletal issues.( giving for long periods of time)
