Very nice post. I just want to clear one thing up because I may have misrepresented this statement somewhere, I do not mean to state that ALL AKC people are snobs, I do however feel that there are many of them that are. By snob, I mean that they feel that a dog that is not AKC is of less quality. That is not true. I have met a few AKC people who were very nice, however, most AKC people have been nice, until they find out I am registered with the ContCK. That is why I use the term 'AKC snobs'. Other than that......nice to meet you and welcome to the forum!
While it's true that not all breeders who use AKC are responsible/reputable, it IS also true that NO responsible/reputable breeder uses ContKC. Fact. Mostly, because a responsible/reputable breeder values their reputation. While the average pet owner doesn't know the difference, your fellow breeder DO know the difference. It tells alot about your ethics if you choose to register with ContKC.
Nothing meant to you as a person, Katz, you seem intelligent and responsible, but I have to agree that nobody reputable, that knows what they are doing when producing fine blooded animals, would have anything to do w/ something like ContKC.
How is that not supposed to affect me? This is ridiculous. I give up. I am so frickin' tired of defending myself to no avail. You guys are ruthless and pretty much flat out rude at times. It is NOT a true statement that there are not good and reputable breeders using the ContKC! I am hardly going to disagree that it is known for bad breeders but that does NOT mean that we all are. I am done, I just wish you would all educate properly instead of giving bias and false statements.
Being as huge as you are, with your own website etc., it seems that your association with this shyster organisation has some import, else I would discount it. I do not consider myself uneducated. Ruthless or rude is likely a circumstancial result of what I am exposed to.
What website? I am still waiting to see picture of puppies from the 6 previous litters. Where all of those pups CKC registered too? It is understandable if you by chance buy a dog that is ContKC registered in the beginning of your breeding program but you yourself said that you plan on slowly switching over to AKC dogs because of how people judge and view the CKC. None of the dogs you have now are AKC registered except for maybe the new one which I don't know because you have not said and none of your current dogs have been breed yet. So why breed them now? You got rid of all of your old breeding stock already why didn't you take your profits and buy AKC dogs if you planned on continuing to breed? Just doesn't make alot of sense to me. You get very upset when someone on here speaks badly about the ContKC when in fact you know they are a shady registry. With reputable registeries out there for you and you choice not to use them is where the problem is. Also you keep stressing that you do all of the testing on your dogs, what testing do you do? And you also said that your dogs are "proven". Just to let you know "proven" in the breeding world means that they have produced a litter. So none of the dogs you have now are in fact "proven".

Yeah, I think the gal w/ Goldens was talking CKC. My computer jargon being nil, I meant the web-site Katz was moderating? I did not mean her very own...however maybe she has one. I do. They are easy to get these days. I need to sit down and figure out how to change the pictures. They are old.
Ok, so I have a question....I have never owned an AKC dog Winston is my first. I am sending off his AKC paperwork and it gives the option of the silver or gold package which includes a 3 generations of his ancestory and various other things depending on the package. Is there really a need for me to get all the extras?
Only if you are curious. I got the package that gave me a 3 generation pedigree because i was very curious about Ramoth's lineage. Her breeder (a backyard breeder) had the pedigree for her mother, but not for her father, and didn't give me a copy of her mother's pedigree.
