I have a pure bred dog, my mom only likes getting pure bred dogs from a breeder...i dont know why though. I have a pure maine coone cat from a breeder and my other 3 cats are mixes that we have found roaming around homeless. I dont know why my mom says "Only Pure Bred Dogs" but i dont care about the breed of the cats..."
I don't even know what kind of cats I have. All I know is they are both sisters.... they're both black and white. One has longer hair and one has shorter hair. The longer haired one has a black patch on her back in the shape of a perfect heart. It's so cute.
Well, I think I have developed my own personal breed of cats over the years! I started out with just two cats I got when I was just three years old, a black tom and a black and white girl, we had some accident kittys and now every cat I own goes back to my Black tom I always kept every kitten out of him so when he died his oldest living son took over and is now the king of the place. They are simply the best cats ever though, that all take after my first blackie who was so good natured he never once scratches anyone in his life even when my little brother swung him like a lasso by his tail! I know it is not good to breed mix breed cats, but I always keep the kittens myself, because they have such great personalities! Two years ago I had a kitten that was born a midgit! Has anyone ever heard of this? Even at two years old he was only 6 inches tall he had really short legs but a big head and belly. Unfortunatly Calibur had an accident and is no longer with us, but he was definatly the strangest cat I have ever seen. I would love to hear if anyone else has heard of dwarfism in cats before, his parents were smallish but full size cats....
Tiocy is a siamese mix, her grandmother was a purebred siamese and her grandpa was a long haired blue kitty. Asha is a longhaired black and white kitty that we adopted from the shelter when she was literally next in line to be euthanized. They were very mad at me because they had to stay longer while I talked Patrick into letting us take her home. She was very very pregnant.
Mercedes is a American Shorthair. She was adopted from the shelter as well but we have all the paperwork for her. She is the first purebred kitty we have ever had but not the last. We want a traditional or 'applehead' siamese and we also want a Birman.
I have a mixed breed dog and cat. I don't know what my cat is mixed with, but he has neat markings. His legs and belly are snow white and the rest of him is really light tan (like the light color on the tummy of the TP mascot) and he has faint stripes all over the tan parts.
I would LOVE a sphinx cat. I thought those were so neat looking ever since seeing Austin Powers. lol. I also love purebred siamese cats. The seal point ones with the short, white coat and really dark nose. :)
I do have a Maine Coon cat who is 10 years old( my first born son like I call him, I was lucky I got from a rescue when he was 3 months old, I also have a tabby cat (4 years old) and best o fall I have a 7 month old Calico kitten she is soooo cute.
i have always had mix breed cats, i have had quite a few cats. i have had a pure bred jack russile, who had to get put to sleep, then it was Tammy still got her she is a tibeten terrier cross, then it was heidy she was tammys daughter she was a rite mix, we had to give her away. i have maurka, she is the pure bred GSD, but she stays with my aunt.
I have one purebred female Golden Retriever named Kelsey. Most of my dogs in my life have been mixes. I've owned four purebred dogs in my whole life. I have never owned a purebred cat though. I have two mixed cats that I don't know what they're mixed with. Mikito(male) and Takara(female) are black & white, I rescued them from the Idaho Humane Society here in Boise, Idaho. They are brother and sister, I couldn't seperate them. Mikito means "the prince" in Japanese and Takara means "beloved jewel" in Japanese my older brother named them(he took Japanese when he was in high school).
One is a siamese and the other is just a mix barn cat. We got the purebred though because I didn't have cows or sheep to breed for my FFA project. I also had a balineese I gave to my grandma. That cat was beautifull but a pain in the butt. She was more vocal than my siamese. All the cats I had when I was younger where just mixes adn the future ones probally will be too but I do want a maine coone somtime!
I have 5 cats. I have 1 DSH, 1 DMH, 1 DMH, and two maine coon mixes that are sisters. I think why most people dont care if there cats are a mix is because cats "usually" tend to act all the same... other than purebreeds that may have different tendencys then other.
i have purebred dogs but i would never buy a purebred cat. to me, there is nothing more special about a purebred cat then a regular alley cat. i have not seen any better personalities in purebred cats then in reg cats. either can be just as sweet or just as aloof or mean and being purebred doesn't change that in cats.
