One of the main things with Manson is that he wasn't even at the murders. His followers did the crime while he was somewhere else. I had to do a paper on him in school once. He is a crazy man. The scary thing is I met a man that looked just like him. I was at the bar once and I played pool with a guy that could have been his twin. I didn't care though. he was real nice and he paid for my drinks.
At least death means he's not getting out on good behavior in a few years... He seemed guilty. "I was fishing". You would think these guys could do better. Like OJ w/ the bite marks swelling on his hand, and Blake w/ the "I left my gun in the restuarant". Jeez.
boxer babe, on christmas eve day a couple years ago Laci Peterson disappeared, she was 8 months pregnant. her husband was later arrested for it. after that the bodies of Laci and her unborn son washed up ashore about a mile from where scott peterson said he had been fishing. the fishing trip was scott's alibi. he was just convicted of Laci's murder, and that of their unborn son.
Yeah, here in California he has to wait like 15 years or so. I think that's good, he can rot away in prison for awhile before being murdered.. ha....haa.... I know I'm violent. Modesto (where he lived) isn't far from me at all, and neither is redwood city where the trial was held. And I've been to the place and swam where he dumped his wife! EEK

Just to put this back on topic. The dog that Laci was walking until she was too pregnant was a discussion point w/ the police. Somebody said they saw her walking the dog the day she went missing. It was assumed that they were mistaken, I think.
I have been waiting to here what happens to him. He is such a sick nut. I always felt he was guilty circumstational evidence or not he did it. I dont know how I feel about death either because the thought is always there about what if? Even if you feel strongly that the person is guilty there is still some small chance that things are different than the evidece shows, I could never myself be on a jury and have that decision to be part of. He does however deserve it in my oppinion. His family doesnt deserve it but neither did Laceys.
One of his followers...Charles Watson, my aunt taught him in school. She said when she was watching the news and a picture showed up of him, it liked to of killed her because she said she never imagined him doing something like that, but I don't think anyone ever imagined scott peterson doing that either
I have been following this case from the time she disappeared. What solidified his guilt for me was when he tried to sell his house and did sell her car while she was still "missing." He knew she wasn't coming back. If my husband were truly missing I wouldn't be looking to move within a month or two because I would be hoping he would come back or be found. The more I learned during his trial the more I felt he was guilty. They have been talking a lot about the death penalty in California and they do have a very long wait. Charles Manson was not sentenced to death because at the time of the Tate/La Bianca murders there was no death penalty. It was reinstated at a later date. He will never get out, no parole board in their right mind would let him out he is truly crazy. The one thing about Scott Peterson being sentenced to death is that the prison he is in overlooks the island where Laci and Conner washed up. I hope he has to see that sight every day of the rest of his life. Do you know he was talking and laughing with his attorney today after they announced his sentence? This guy is out there too, just in a different way from Manson. Manson is out there crazy and doesn't mind you knowing. Peterson is so self centered he doesn't seem to believe anything can happen to him. He is a true sociopath I believe. The scary thing with him is like Ted Bundy, if you didn't know who he was and just saw him on the street you wouldn't suspect a thing. Although he is not considered a serial killer, killing your pregnant wife and unborn son because they no longer fit your lifestyle is just about as sick as they come. I believe in the death penalty myself and I've said all along I hope he gets it, but in reading what everyone wrote I must say I'm beginning to rethink my position. For someone like him being locked up for the rest of his life would be pure torture and he deserves it. The only thing that scares me is too much knowledge. IMO life without parole needs to mean just that. Too many times people have managed to get out and gone on to kill someone else. That makes me sick. I am glad this trial is finally over and like Bronwin said I applaud our justice system and most of all the jury. They have been through hell I know and I don't know if I could have done it myself.
I'm full of opinions right? :)
Paigebeverly, living in Texas I agree that he would be dead inside a few years I guess he can count himself lucky for that, or not.
I'm in the minority here,i'll state it any way.I believe he killed his wife yes,but it was an accident. They got into a fight,he hit her maybe and knocked her over, she fell and hit her head ,and she died. Scott freaked out and threw her body in the water, then made the alibi. He didn't kill her intentionally. He derserves prison time, but not to die.I could never decide some ones fate like that, and their decision was far off base.
Charles Manson was given the death penalty originally, but it was commuted to life in prison when the DP was abolished in Cali. He comes up for parole every 5 years I believe but they'll never let him out.
Scott Peterson creeps me out......he seems very cold and detached for a man who claims he has nothing to do with the murder of his wife and child. He sold her car....continued to see his mistress....turned the baby's nursery into a storage room...all before their bodies were ever found. I mean who does that????? If he DIDN'T do it, he certainly ACTED guilty IMO. Why incriminate yourself like that if you're innocent?? Ughhh.

red, it could have been, but I believe with his actions and inaction he hung himself. If that is what happened why would he never show any emotion or admit it and get a lighter sentence. Death penalty or life without parole can only be given when it is planned in advance. Therefore, why not just admit it if that's what happened? The sad part is that no one will ever know and I don't know how Laci's mother can live with that. What a terrible thing to happen to that family.
My sister was murdered 3 yrs ago on december 21st. Her husband killed her and would have killed my nieces if they were there. He ended up killing himself coward in my eyes. That being said...I think Scott is guilty for his actions. The death penalty is not even enough for what he did. I believe in my religion and I believe that he will pay what he did. Very sad.
