Anyone? Max is my recently adopted and recently neutered 2 Yr. old Jack Russell Terrier. Toby is my 11 month old neutered mixed Maltese/Pomeranian puppy. They have been having alot of dominance issues, but every once in a while I will catch Max doing this. Is he being friendly and caring? Or is he waiting to bite his eyes out? LOL? Toby's eyes tear alot. Is he cleaning him?
My pug and golden do this constantly, ears and eyes. Now my chi has started too. It's kind of gross, but oh well, they seem to like it. My pug and golden will even "groom" each other like cats do. I would take it as a good sign.
i dunno...cleaning, or dominance? we had a rescue dog i pulled from a shelter and had to keep for 2 days till i could get him to his foster mom, and he licked snowballs entire head- eyes, ears, everything. she loved it. she'd chase him and sit in front of him waiting for a licking. if he tried to go around her, she'd scoot into his path. i though it was 'puppy love' ha ha...

Yeah, I'd say it's a good thing. Chopper (rat terrier) licks Mollie's whole head too-ears, eyes especially. He also licks Eli's ears and eyes and sometimes Eli gets grumpy about it and growls, but then Chopper just keeps doing it. He's the only one in the house that does this. He also licks our ears and sniffs our eyes and licks my feet. I'm so ticklish too!!
