She is about 3 months and never eat any kind of human food everytime we eat she just stares at us wondering what could we be having. is there anything that i can feed her and things that I SHOULD NOT feed her. i know chocolate is pretty dangerous. thanks every1
I have a shih tzu and she was kind of like that when we got her. She was a year old and had been basically ignored and left in a crate with dog food all her life. So she was hesitant to take treats or people food. We gradually introduced her to little things, now she's a begging maniac. I'm not sure you want to start that up, lol.
One thing to remember is that a dog's digestive system is different from a human's. Any type of people food you give your dog, while they could love the taste, can cause them to have an upset tummy. If you want to feed your dog from the table while you are eating, put a few kibbles of his/her food on a small dish next to your plate and had him/her one once in a while. The dog wont know that its not what you are eating and will feel special because you are feeding him from the table, but wont get the upset tummy.
If it were me, I wouldn't feed her ANY human food. It's nice to not have a begging dog all the time. She'll be less likely to get fat, too. There are just too many fat dogs out there and I am convinced it is because they are being fed lots of table scraps and other crud.
Having said that, I know you'll probably feed her anyway. Many of the things people have suggested (apples, sweet potatoes, etc.) are good. You might see if she likes raw carrots. Many dogs like them and it's good for them. Rice, especially mixed with meat (no sauce or gravy or heavy spices) is also good for them.
Remember that a little salt goes a long way with a small dog, so watch the salty foods (you don't want to encourage kidney stones, and the like).
