I have had dogs all my life but recently my 9 year old companion, an alsation, died from a heart attack and my 5 year old labrador went to live with my sister. Since then i have been lonley and am wanting to buy a puppy to keep me company. However, my mum seems to think theyre expensive and too much to handle. Any tips over which puppy i should buy and how much i will be spending. Advice much appreciated.
Why not try petfinders .com? There are tons of puppies and great young dogs that need homes. They all come neutered or spayed and have their shots. Sometimes they are completely housebroken..I've adopted 3 from there and they are terrific. They most times also come with a month or two of free vet service. Good luck
I agree with trying petfinder.com. We got our dog 3.5 years ago... he was six months old, healthy and housebroken... in 3.5 years he has never once gone to the bathroom in the house. They have pedigrees, mixed breeds, you can cross reference breeds... you name it!! Good luck.

Thanks for that advice. I might actually try pet finders it sounds like a good idea. I totally understand your point about getting my mums approval first which of course im going to do. She wants a dog too but i just have to persuade her fully. Also, reffering to the last point i feel i do have enough time for a puppy which is why i now want to buy another one. Like i mentioned first i feel so lonley without a dog and the house feels so empty. Thanks for all your advice nayway. Any more tips fully apprecaited.
Since you are probably going to school, getting a little older dog from petfinders that may already be housebroken and not have so many of the bad habits of puppies is a good idea. It would be much easier on your mom and you could save the life of a wonderful dog. It is great you are asking advice and taking each one and appreciating their point.
