i have a 6 month old black lab that has caught parvo. What do i do???!!!! i called the vet but we dont have the money to pay for it. I really want to know what to do =(. He's drinking water, but he refuses to eat. i was wondering if there are any cheap meds i can buy for him. plz help me i dont want my dog to die =*(.
Someone said they bought Parvaid online, but I cant vouch for it's effectiveness. Make sure you continue to get lots of fluids and electrolytes in your pup. Good luck. The person on this site said the Parvaid worked well, but do you really want to take the chance? You may not have a lot of time.

I have never personally dealt with parvo, but from what i have heard/read it is very serious and takes its toll quickly. I know this is not what you want to hear, but I would do everything possible to get the money to treat this immediately. Maybe a credit card or a family member.. Once I sold my clothes and furniture to pay for an animal's care, and I didn't regret it. I know I am not in your shoes, but I do have a dog who is expensive healthwise and a very tight budget that's always a bit behind. From what I have heard, your dog needs help and FAST. If you want him to live, I think he will have to get treatment from the vet. I understand that sometimes despite our best efforts, it can't be done. You must decide what it's worth to you and do the best you can. Best of luck to you. And God bless.
My vet would not make a diagnois over the phone. How do they know its Parvo if they haven't seen the puppy. They can be saved because I was talking to a lady at the vets office the other day and she told me that her dog was at death's door with Parvo and they saved it. I would not have him put down until you have tried everything. It looks like to me they would work with you on paying for the treatment, espically on a 6mo. old dog.
Parvo is a terrible thing. My first dog(trooper-rip now) had it and was on his Death bed, actually he had stopped breathing and came back on his own. with vet care and caught at the right time its very possible your pup will pull thru ok. it's a 50/50 chance tho. GET THE POOCH TO THE VET if possible

Try contacting a rescue service, or the national breed club. You can find the info at akc.org. Sometimes they have funds for those things to help out. I have collies and there is a group for that. Good luck
What about a credit card, borrow someone's if you have to and pay them back. Over Christmas my dog had gastroenteritis and I had to charge $700 on my card, but I'd do it again in a second. She is much better now.
