2 days later than I'm supposed to...will they care?

I'm going to make an appointment for Sophie for Saturday. The paper said to take them within 10-14 days to get stitches removed but the contract said it has to be within 10 days. I'm going to make one 2 days later, I don't think they'll care. I just want to let the stitches heal up a little more. I don't know what days my mom will work, but Saturday Matt and I will take her and Joe for sure.

often they give you a time window because that is when the visit will be free. and as far as stitches, ask them if 2 days longer will metter. i should think not, but im no vet.

If they look good and healed no soreness, you could do it yourself.

I've taken them out myself from 3 females. It isn't a big deal, of course my dogs were smaller breeds. As long as there isn;t any soreness or swelling. My papers for Chloe' said 7-10 days to have them removed...Hubby just rubbed her head and neck and destracted her and it worked great.

It should be free but the paper said 10 days, but the other paper said 10-14 to get the stitches removed. Saturday will be the 12th day they've been in so I think it'll be ok. I'll call them, but I'm sure the vet office won't care, it's not like they will know the pick up date anyway. It was supposed to be the 10th, but it was the 17th.

I got her an appointment for Saturday at 9:30am, it was the only opening left. Lucky me. =)

i would really suggest you not taking them out at home yourself. most likely you can tell she is fully healed and probably could remover them yourself with no problems. but i have seen 2 animls in the past few months that have come to us for suture removal, they looked completely healed , we took them out only to have the dogs go home and everything burst open. those are extremely rare cases and obviously those 2 dogs have underlying issues that would have caused that to happen. you are better off just taking her to the vet. they dont charge to remove stitches so might as well let them do it.

Oh yeah, I definitely wasn't going to remove them myself. My moms a nurse and said she would but I told her no way. ha...She has to go the the vet anyway so, I'll let someone experienced do it. =) Matt and I are going to take her Saturday, I dunno if she'll like it very much. ha thanks!
