Just wondering how many people give their dogs vitamins on a regular basis and how important it is. I have some multi vitamin tablets for small dogs that i occassionally give my dogs when I remember, it is just I rarely do remember! Anyway my dogs seem healthy enough w/o them, I just thought it wouldn't hurt, anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Such as how important or good they REALLY are not just some hype from the label? Also just curious how many of you give your dogs vitamins? If so what kind?
I'm kind of a sucker for Missing Link. Even though I feed my dogs better than I feed myself, for some reason I want them to eat more greens. LOL! I should have children..."You can't leave the table til you eat your broccoli!"
i dont give my dogs vitamins. i think if they are on a well balanced diet there is no need to supplement them. we have a huge jar of pet tabs at work on the reception counter that people can grab one and give it to their dogs as a treat. once in awhile i will grab a handlful and use them to treat scout after i do her nails ( which she despises ). but she doesnt get them on any regular basis.
I give my two dogs a half of a tablet every day. Only half because there are vitamins in their food already and I don't want to let them overdose on anything. Puppies bones have to grow a lot the first couple of years so I do high quality dog food with half a tablet vitamin supplement and some cottage cheese because it's high in calcium.
Seems like everyone has a lot of different ideas! Well, after rediscovering the bottle of vitamins I had bought and never gave them I have started giving them once a day they think it is a treat, they have always done just fine without them, but I just thought it wouldn't hurt, I was just debating on wheter to keep giving them to them after this bottle is gone or not, so thanks for all the input.
