KBOZ, the majority of the posting members here at TP feel that you can find what you're looking for at a shelter.

Most posting members feel that buying any breed of dog (or a mixed breed, like a pug/beagle cross) from a petstore just puts money in the pockets of irresponsible, disreputable breeders (puppymillers and backyard breeders) who either keep their dogs in deplorable conditions and/or are breeding just for $$ with not a care toward the health and welfare of the breed(s).

Since no responsible/reputable breeder would breed pug/beagle crosses (neither the national Pug club nor the national Beagle club condone mixing of breeds, nor does the AKC), you're not gonna find a responsible/reputable breeder of pug/beagle mixes, where you can feel reasonably sure that you're purchasing a healthy, happy pup and a guarantee that lasts longer than a year.

Before you continue your search for a pug/beagle mix, ask yourself this question, "Why do I want a puggle?" If the answer is because they're cute, you should do some more research on dog breeds that would fit your lifestyle, since there are no standards for what sort of mold a pug/beagle mix should fit. They can run the gamut from the most hyper pug to the laziest beagle...it's a crapshoot.

Hi I live in TX, My pug was actually accidently bred to a beagle, so I have puggle puppies, I am trying to sell them, just a few questions....I had 3 fawn, and 3 black, they are all adorable and have curly tails, but are the black ones less desirable than the fawn...Is $250 dollars a reasonable price?

actually I'm not trying to advertise, none of my info is listed, I was just wanting some tips from local people who breed or sale puggles, the reason being because the only ones I can really find for sale on the internet are in other states and being sold for OUTRAGOUS amounts, I mean I am not trying to be rude, or take advantage, I mean I figure after I pay to have them vaccinated, and get a checkup from the vet that I would have to sell them for something, or I would lose a lot of money.

also, I have read through most of the old postings, I have not seen even one from somebody in TX asking for breeder info, and I don't believe that it is right to ship dogs across the country

I DON'T AGREE WITH WHAT BEAGLES1 HAS TO SAY. IT SOUNDS AS IF THIS PERSON IS AN ANGRY MISERABLE PERSON.I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEONE WOULD BE SO UPSET WITH THE BREEDING OF SUCH A ENERGETIC LOVABLE DOG. I OWN A PUGGLE AND THIS IS MY 4TH DOG. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL BREEDED DOG THAT WERE RESCUED AND A MIX. A PUGGLE IS A MIX. WHETHER BREEDED OR NOT. THIS COMBINATION IS WONDERFUL. HOW WOULD YOU KNOW ANYWAY SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE ONE. YOU SOUND LIKE A PERSON WHO PROBABLY SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE AN ANIMAL SINCE YOUR OPINION SOUNDS SO STRONG AGAINST A PUGGLE. I AM GLAD I AM NOT YOUR DOG. MEANIE. THIS IS HAPPENING AND THANK GOD THERE ARE PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO LOVE AND CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS. I WILL KEEP RESCUEING NO MATTER WHAT THE BREED. YOU ARE JUST IGNORANT!

I can not believe this subject continues. We do not hate mixed breed dogs here once & for all. We ask that you call them what they are. This thread in particular being a Pug mixed with a Beagle. A "Puggle" is not a breed. If you just must have this lovely mixed breed then go to the shelter. There are many mix breed dogs at the shelters including Pug & Beagle mixes each with their own different personalities as they are mix breeds.

What we do not condone nor support are people who purposely breed mix breeds while the shelters are already overflowing with mixes that need homes. A huge amount a shelter dogs are put to sleep unnecessarily because of these money hungry....gotta jump on the next fad so I can line my pockets full of dirty money, so called "breeders". A reputable breeder does not & will not breed mixes together. Those that do are only in it for the fad phase & to make money off of their livestock.

I know we sound like broken records but I'm sure there are other forums that are telling you the same thing....go figure. Get over it once & for all! Enjoy your pets but please don't try to come on here & defend these people or try to claim they are purebreds.

I adopted my 9 week puggle yesterday and so far has been awesome! I went to work today thinking I would come home to a destroyed apartment and instead I walked in on my little turner sleeping and only his toys were touched....and he didnt even potty on my floor! He loves going for walks...and he gets so much attention everywhere I go. I only paid $200 for him and he was from a great breeder. My mother also has a puggle named Tucker and she has had him for 2 months and she thinks he is awesome. I don't see how people with RARE, nearly extinct breeds can say that puggles are a fad. Especially when there are more puggles than the 'breed' that they have. Huh.

I seriously DON'T think they are a fad when so many people like them. If pits are not a fad, and they eat people, I think Puggles will be around for a while. LOL.

Ive never had a "pet rock" or a "sea monkey" . All I know is I have a precious puggle that Im going to injoy and give a loving home for a long time. And Im just here to let anyone out there who is considering a puggle know that I give 2 thumbs up. Everyone I know who has had a puggle will agree with me 100%.

Simply proves how little you know. The Beauceron dates back to the middle ages... not going anywhere. They are rare in the US b/c of their unsuitability as pets. In France they are like the German Shepherd is here, they are well known in most of europe.

HI I was wondering if anyone new of a good breeder or where I can find a puggle in New Jersey me and my husband have been looking but can't find any
