I'm not a breeder, but when I bought my Chihuahua, all the puppies were in a box that looked homemade, that had ledges on the inside. Any breeders know what I'm talking about? They kind of hung out a bit so that the puppies could get under them so that they couldn't get stepped on or get out of the box.
The ledges are called pig rails and recomended for most breeds who have the possibility of rolling over and crushing their babies. Many toy breeders use clear tuppaware containers. Have two so you can move them to the clean one and wash the dirty one out. Plastic makes a fantastic welping surface because it cleans easily with a rag.
She should be completly isolated with her babies. She will want to stay with them 24/7 for the first week to two, and she may start taking breaks at two and a half to trhee weeks. The other dogs do not get to meet the puppies until they are about 6 weeks old, up and mobile.
She should not be in a high traffic area. My welping area is attached to my bedrooom and totaly isolated from the house so that my bitch can feel comfortable, and shes still baying at the door when someone comes over. Stressed mothers hurt their babies.
I am not sure how early they introduce food to chi puppies, but puppies have teeth punched through by 3 weeks of age and its good to get them eatting because many bitches start to ween them at this age, plus it hurts to nurse now!
