I am going to be bringing my puppy, Ziggy Lee, into work with me for a month or so. We have a grassed area and a huge concrete area out the front where the cars park. An oldish dog next door often comes over and poos on our grass and walks all over the concrete area.
I won't let Ziggy go on the grass because I'm sure I read Parvo can live in soil for up to 3 years. Will it be safe for her to go for a walk and pee/poo on the concrete part? Should I disinfect it maybe? If so, what with?
Has your puppy had it's parvo shots yet? Bleach water would be good but there are also cleaners meant for stuff like that. I saw it in a magazine but I'm sure they have it at pet stores. I forgot what it is called but you can ask the staff at the pet store to show you to the cleaners that will kill parvo.
A detergent called A-33 also kills parvo, you could dilute it in a spray bottle and spray the area, also you could make a small foot bath for your puppy to wash the paws. Puppies can pick it up by licking their paws.
