I had to tell you, today we took bowen to the vet for his annual vet checkup and shots and such (he's healthy as all get out). As we were leaving, someone came in with a maltese, she was very friendly and cute. The lady who owned her said she was 4 years old. A very nice dog, Caitlin (my 3 year old daughter) really liked her. ANyway, no there was no point to this post other than to say "I met a nice maltese today!"
Don't fall for Maltese's cute little face like I did. I always wanted a Maltese because of how cute they look and I didn't research anything about the breed. After I got Daisy(who I love dearly) I found out they are somewhat stubborn and a little dfficult to train.
Like I said, I love Daisy very much and my daughter loves her even more probably but if you ask me I prefer to train Poodles way more than Maltese.
AAheemmm.....I beg to differ. I know one very sweet Maltese/pom mix pup. Mine! He is happy and loving and just a joy! And talk about CUTE! Don't even get me started on that. http://www.dogster.com/?56140 LOL! Maltese's Rock!!!!!!!!!
i just got back from the park, and there was a very cute, very mean maltese there. she was hysterical, totally protecting her owner, and lunging and biting at my big ol bessie, who of course was like on her back, wetting herself, totally submissive. she was one fiesty creature, and oh so darn cute.
Thanks for sharing that with me Minniyar. Once again, you caught me by surprise. I am glad to hear that Bowen is healthy.
My goodness alldogslover, that BEWARE is pouring it on way too strong for the entire breed of Maltese. When you finally did your research did you find documentation to support what you have written here. One of the reasons I chose Maltese is because of what I found out researching the breed. I have six Maltese including the puppies, I have a friend who has five, my neighbor has two and I belong to a Maltese forum, and have yet to hear anyone describe the breed as you have. All I have to say is you better be glad you didn't post that BEWARE on this forum about Pit Bulls.
Bessie, Maltese are very loyal to their owners, so that may have been what that was about.I have never seen a mean Maltese.

Ok, alright! I might of exagerated when I stated BEWARE! I might be unfairly comparing Daisy to my Poodles.
I apologize to all you Maltese owners/lovers for hurting your feelings. No damage was intended.
Daisy is just adorable. She's sweet. cute and looks like a princes; however, I have to admit I am obsesed with Poodles because....I'll tell you another time I am going home now. I am going to see my babies!!
lol, cricketmom. i should of made a little winky face when i wrote "mean". i guess when you see 2 pounds of white hair going for a 35 puppy peeing herself, you should be more inclined to describe big-hearted. my apologies, no offense intended.
