The first thing I would do is call your local zoning department to find out if there are any restrictions with regard to the # of dogs on your property. Then go to the animal control office. Donít tell them who you really are, and donít tell them what the other AC told you. Tell them you are about to move to their county and have few questions about the local laws. Ask them about all the things you want to know. Better yet, ask them if they have some sort of a pamphlet or anything written with all the local ordinance for your area. This way youíll have a better idea of whether or not he really did lie to you.
For some reason when you said he lied about you running an illegal rescue, I thought you meant he was lying about the illegal part and you do have a rescue. I guess I misread it.
Anyway, the best things you can do is talk to the zoning department and ask them if there is a limit on the # of dogs you can keep on your property, and call the AC office and ask them about the other issues too.
yes i do have a rescue a very small one but I do do rescue work. And yes he was lieing it is NOT illegal. He said it was illegal to rescue a dog if you were not licensed and that is not true. anyone can rescue a dog there is a broad definition to what rescue means.
