With a GSD I suggest looking locally. Great dogs but getting more and more health problems as bad breeding takes place. I suggest looking for GSD's from working lines. These breeders tend to go more for temperment and health than just looks and size. also some ofa certs going on ma and pa. it is best to go to a breeder in person and pick a dog. if you do not want to do that. leerburg. com is a good place to start. they have good name and have been in the biz for years.
I have a female pup that is 6 weeks old so I would need a 8 week old male pup so that way they could grow up together. ilovemygsd what part in germany...that would be very far for me to have him shipped because I am in ohio. Any body else know a good breeder? Gunner i went on that site that you gave me and their pups are like $1800.00 and I don't have that kind of money to spend. I am just looking for a male gsd clost to the price that I paid for my female...I paid $425.00 for my female and she is ckc,akc and utd on shots and all that happy stuff. And she is a cutie i have pictures if anybody want them.
I'm in Kaiserslautern; about an hour or so from Frankfurt. I'm not sure if they folks I got her from ship or not; I have never asked them. I'll look for their web page link and a couple of others if I can find them. We paid 550 euro for her, and she came with the German papers, etc. I'm not real thrilled with the breeders we got her from...things are just shady out there. The gal let us see the mom and dad when we were out there looking at her the first time, but once we got her and she started to grow and we noticed that she did not look ANYTHING like her mother, we wanted to go back out and take a better look at her and her father. Turns out they had "just sold" the father and would not let us see the mom. I just think they are catering to the Americans and that is something I wish we would have known in advance. It seems like every 8 to 10 weeks they have an ad in the local base paper advertising a new litter. On top of all that we just found out that she has horrible HD. So, sometimes it pays to go with the more expensive dog, especially if they'll gaurantee the hips...I wish that we had. But, she's still my goofy girl.
