In August when grad school (yay) starts I'll be alone (sad face lol) in a one bedroom apt. with Ace and Summer. They will be crated so they don't get in trouble and so I have an easier time with Ace pottying outside. I have travel crates for them right now but they never go in them unless we're in the car because they're too small to be left in for too long. So I started looking at the big wire crates for my new apt. I found one I liked for Summer at PetCo which was $130 and one for Ace for $70. I thought this was expensive....anyone know of a place for cheaper crates?
You may want to try your local shelter. Our shelter often gets crates and stuff donated and sometimes they get so many they cannot use them so they sit and go to waste. That is how I got my last crate. It was a brand new one also and I got it for a small donation.
When I was searching for a crate the cheapest place I found was Care a Lot. They aren't the cheapest for other things but for the type of crate I wanted they had the lowest price. That was three years ago and I bought a crate made by General Crates. So, I guess I was mainly looking for the cheapest General Crate.
acey- try dog.com. its dogs outfitters. they are really cheap, like wholesale prices, i have ordered a ton from them and they are great. and they charge actual shipping, not some ridiculous amount. also start hitting garage sales, and checking the give-a-way section of your local paper. maybe you can get a free one, or real cheap. we sold a huge on at our garage sale for $10.
where will you be in school in aug? near the bf? and what for, i know you said before but my mind is an empty vault sometimes.
Thanks! I've got to start looking so I can get them now & get them used to being in them, so my new neighbors don't hate me. lol.
Eskie, my bf will be about a half an hour away. He and I both graduate in May. He just sent in an application to the Illinois State Police Forensics Lab, so hopefully he'll get that. Otherwise he'll be working in a hospital lab as a medical technologist. I am graduating with a Public Health bachelors and a minor in environmental health. Im starting grad school for my masters in May, though. Sooo Im stuck in school for a couple extra yrs but I figured I've already gone this far, might as well stick it out :)
