Members like Atomic Dog? Atomic Dog has been banned from the forum. How on earth you can decide who you can trust and who you can't just by what they say to you on the Internet, is beyond me. I don't see how you can know what the future of these dogs would be, and who's hands you would be delivering it to, and what they would actually do with the dog. The only thing difference about this and people getting scammed for puppies is the money involved.
First of all P&D I would like to say that you are a good person for trying to give Shadow and Jasmine a home when all of Jazzy's options ran out. I offered to take them a while back and at that time she stated they were strays that she felt bad for and didnt know much about. I had no access to the computer for a while and it is still a little messed up so when I got back on to explaine to her that Since she said the reason she keeps them crated is because she dont know if she can trust them around her child that me and my b/f talked and decided that we could not take them because we have a 4 year old along with several other dogs and couldnt risk anything and also couldnt see keeping them crated all the time. So I agree that under no circumstances should Shadow be returned to Jazzy and in my oppinion you are doing more to make things work for Shadow then she was. ( She did try ) and then she succeeded when she found you which is a great thing. Truthfully I heard a couple storys on how she got the dogs and why she couldnt keep them but now she wants them back? P&D please stand by your word and do not return Shadow to her but find him a good forever home. I am glad you took them and not just anyone else who could have done only god knows what with them.
I just want everyone to know that I will always appreciate what pitesdid for my dogs. My only gripe was seeing him on that page the way I did. If she couldn't contact me, she could have posted, like someone said. THATS ALL! This has gotten way out of control and now, I'm getting bashed for trying to find a home for two animals which I rescued from the streets. If circumstances were different, I never would have given them up. I did not know when I brought pits JAzmin that she had a young child. When I found out I told her that I didn't want her to keep her. We talked about it and she had other options for her. If not for her, Jazmin would have been put down. I thank her for putting in that effort. I also knew that Shiny was trying to place Shadow. I had NO problem with this as I trust her judgement. I also offered to find a low cost neuter program for Shadow. We found one close to where pits lives and I'm more than willing to pay for it. She knows this. I have alot going on right now and I'm trying to deal with all of it at once. With moving and my marriage messed up, a baby and one on the way. I realize that this is not anyone elses mess and I do appreciate all the help. Pits is a good person with a great heart and I have only respect for her trying to help all of these animals.
I have NEVER mislead anyone about how I found or ended up with these dogs. Luvmypits, you offered to take them. We started in Nov. and you told me you'd take them in January, after the new year. At that point you disappeared off the forum. And I never heard from you again. Emails to you were returned saying that your email account was closed. All that time, I could have been trying to find them a home. If you felt you didn't want to take them, I understand that, but you could have just told me that. The thought at least would have been appreciated. Just the thought that you would even offer was more than appreciated.
Anyway thats my two cents for what it's worth. Everyone needs to calm down and try to deal with trying to help whatever babies we can. I would love to have my Shadow back. I want whats best for him and I miss him terribly. I just don't know if I can give him whats best. Damn, here go those hormones again. :) Anyway I'm done, sorry for such a long post.
yeah I know my e-mail is messed up and as I said when I was able to get on this was already worked out between you and p&d. I am glad you found them a place and I hope all goes well for you. My e- mail is still messed up. Good luck on your new home and baby.
This has turned into quite a thread. I would like to add one small piece of information that may help all parties concerned in various ways. Do not get offended anyone because this is not directed towards anyone who has participated on this thread but it is something that anyone who is placing dogs in to new homes needs to know. There are people in this world who will go around and adopt dogs and resell them to other families, research labs, dog fighters, etc. They are usually pretty smart and can con the most intelligent people out of their beloved family members. These animals you are trying to find homes for are entrusting you with their lives. This is not something to take lightly. They depend on you to do right by them. Whatever your personal thoughts are, please remember that innocent lives are at stake here.
Scout, alot of good questions and yes some I have done some I am working on but I am only one person and I have not been at this issue with this group of dogs for long it is a big task which is why I posted and asked for help. I have been making calls all day yeaterday and thursday. Plus trying to update the website which I cannot seem to get working right all of a sudden. I have calls put in to several groups here to see about help with shots spay and neuter. There is also the matter of heartworm testing as well. Not to mention I have to spend time with these dogs to better socialize them and hopefully at least get them to calm down long enough to sit still in one spot for more then 3 and 1/2 seconds. I am a bit overloaded now but I am trying. Is there anyone who would like to help with some of the things Scout listed? It is a very good list of things that need to be done.
Also I have no problem doing the shots but again that takes money and rabies cannot be done other then by a licensed vet.

Scout that is unfair. She runs her buisness pretty well but you have to understand she is a trusting person and what information she did require was slacked on by other employees. Also again some of these animals were found chained and boxed up outside in the am when she would come in to open the place up. At least she is not like some who would just drown the puppies or toss the others to the pound. She is TRYING to help them. She is doing some things different now but there is no sense in beating a dead horse.

i am well aware that rabies cannot be done by anyone other then a licensed vet. that is why i suggested you research free rabies clinics. you are going to have to spend some money. if you are not prepared to do that then you shouldn't come on here and hype everyone up over this. fostering, rescuing and caring for dogs takes money. that would be where the fundraisers come in. let me know how far you've gotten.

there is also a manufacturing plant for purina located in atlanta georgia. if you cannot find any donations of food thru walmart, etc.. you could try contacting purins and see if they give away free food to homeless pets.
Go Scout! I was just going to look up that website I had foud about the low cost spay and neuter program. I know there is one right in Augusta, just near pits home. That would probably be her best bet. MAybe she could even speak to them and try to make arrangements. Kind of like a "bulk rate" thing? :) If there's anything I can do as far as research or anything please let me now. I'm more than happy to help.
ugh I never said I wan not willing to spend some money but I certainly don't have the funds to cover over 20 dogs. I can handle getting shadow done and bandit as well but you have to understand that Animal controll finds out and they will give us a whole bunch of crap about this I am trying to keep this out of their ear shot. Calling places like you have suggested for spay and neuter is something I have been doing for two solid days but I am not a regesterd 501c3 rescue group so it is hard to inlist any help. I have only been working on this less then a week. As for a fund raiser I am open to ideas but again alot of people do not want to donate without a reciept for tax purposes I have thought of the change jars but I am leery as we did that when a local man in our town in florida lost his leg in a car wreck and we got in trouble with the law for it. I have to check into the laws in Georgia and see if I can do that.
Jazzy your referring to the CSRA humane society yes I have worked with them in the past doing fostering for some pups. They were the first ones I called hoping they had space for the pups in their program but they don't and again I need to find a way to raise money for the spay and neuter through them. I am going to try and see if since she is kinda like fostering them anyway if theCSRA HS will admit them into the program while they are at the kennel and get their stuff started. This way they can go for adoption day and the CSRA maybe can help with food for them too.
