I know mstly everyone here posts about dogs, so I hope it is ok to post a question about a cat. I just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on what to give a cat that is having trouble coughing up a hairball. I recently changes my cats diet to a better food, but I noticed that it has been awhile since I have seen her cough up a hairball. She has been coughing and gagging at night. Any suggestions?
There is something you can get in a tube, I forget what it is called. It is kind of molassesy stuff. If you call the vet I am sure they can tell you about it. It isn't expensive. A pet supply store would have it. Good luck!
coughing in cats can also be a sign of feline asthma. have your vet check her out. the vet can tell by an x-ray if it is asthma and then you would need to put her on medication. my cat had asthma and i only medicated her when her symptoms were bad.
