Goshdarnit, mizzi, those pics are too cute. What a mess of puppies! I hope you are able to get a little bit of rest now, and Diva too. How is she doing with them all? How are you dealing with them all? I'd be pulling my hair out! I mean, I love pups just as much as the next person(especially rotts), but hearing about all the work that goes into them sure is a good preventative for me!
Diva is no longer taken care of the puppies. She attacked one of them last saturday so I went ahead and weaned them....so yeah it is back to lots of work....they eat all the time and poop all the time and with no mom to clean up the mess so that leaves me. Never ending around here.
Oh wow, mizzi, I had no idea. That's just crazy. You are such a trooper and I can't imagine how hard you are working to keep those puppies healthy. I'm assuming, with my little pea brain, that you keep them totally seperated? Any news on getting her adopted?
cschimizzi, how old are your adorables now, 5 weeks? Lots of little needle teeth yet? Lily is feeding her pups a couple of times a day, but only for a short time. And she does it standing up now. So much for our little guy. He can't reach very well. We have her lay down in the family room and feed him by himself. What bellies! You are keeping them well fed. Keep up what I know is hard work!
No Diva is staying....she is a great dog just not a good mother...as soon as she "drys" up she is going to be spayed. She gets along wonderfully with all of my dogs and with the family. She is very gentle by nature.
They will be 5 weeks on Thursday. Diva did the stand up feeding too for awhile. I felt so sorry for them...They would get on ther hind legs and fall over and just whine and whine. I am feeding them canidae and I love it. Everyones stools are nice and firm. I dewormed everyone at 3 weeks and will again next week along with their first shots. I know you know where I am coming from Ltlgto...it is alot of work....I feed them every 5-6 hours.
Woah! Diva is staying staying? Mizzi, that is so cool, congrats! Aw, your poor eyebulbs, they must be bulging out of your skull. Matching luggage, as my bf says. But I think I might have told you that already. ;)
Those are the cutiest babies. I have to tell you I showed them to my husband and Tina heard me say puppies and here she came. I had just turned off the computar and she started clawing my legs wanting to see the puppies. So, I had to turn it back on and go down through all the pictures for her. She loved them. Everytime she looked at one I would say "see the babies" and she would lick my face. But , they are sweeties.
Oh cschimizzi - Your puppies are adorable. I love them all. I am so thankful that it was you that got Diva because how many other people would or could put in all the hard work and dedication to save a litter of this size. Do you have homes for all of the puppies yet?
Hugs for you and Diva & puppy treats for the babies.
Thanks guys, and no I don't have any homes for any of the puppies yet. I haven't tried to place any of them yet. They can't leave until they are 12 weeks because they are going to be spayed/neutered before they leave. I am not going to start advertising until they are 8 weeks. Hopefully I won't have any problems.
