The Haltie collar I could not get small enough. The 0 size was too big for her neck. I am not sure if they had it packaged wrong or it just won't work because there was not another one when I went back so I tried the Gentle Leader. The Gentle Leader will go as small as I need it but she goes wild and paws off the piece around her nose. Her facial features are so small there is not much room for the strap and I am afraid of it getting into her eyes. I will let the trainer look at it tonight but may discuss a harness with her.
For anyone with small dogs, I will let you know what ends up working. Thanks for all the input when I asked about this earlier.
minpinmom - There are catalogs that you can order from the have products designed for the toy breeds specifically. Have you checked into any of them? I would think that some petstores may not be able to stock all available sizes of a product, due to space limitations.
Look on google and check out toy dog stores, I will have to look and see what catalogs that I have. There is someone, somewhere that has a product for any size, shape and breed of dog available.
Merico, Yes, it is to stop her from pulling. She knows how to walk right but won't always do it. I had to take her in early from her walk Sunday because she was pulling and getting excited and I was afraid of her choking herself.
Basset_lover, thanks for asking. That is a good idea. Georgie has only had one class and has another tonight where we are supposed to really start getting into it. She behaved fairly well for an excited little Min Pin at her first class. I will get there early again and try to get her calmed down a little before class. That is the hardest thing to control with her. She really gets excited which is normal for her breed.
Basset_lover, I saw your cute little Japanese Chin. I was wondering what other dogs you have and if all the others are Bassets and how old they are. Basset Hounds are really sweet dogs!!
thunder did the same thing with his. continously pawed at it and rolled on the ground trying to get it off. he would not stop until he was successful in getting enough of it off and was able to chew it in half. same wiht the second one. most dogs however get used to it and are quite willing to keep it on.
