Passed away last night in her sleep. As my heart aches I reflect on her 14 yrs of life we were honor to have shared with her. My sister rescued Missy from a family that didn't have the time or patience to deal with Missy's abused past. It took 2 yrs for Missy to warm up to my father and let him touch her, even though she would follow him around the farm everywhere he went.
7 yrs ago I moved back to the family farm and was givin the priviledge to take care of Missy. I have had many pets over the years but Missy was no longer considered a pet but a consistant member of our family. She never had any babies herself but helped us rescue and raise creatures of all sorts.
Missy was the loyalest employee you will find .She never missed a day of work . She let you know when a customer was there... but don't think of coming in the shop when nobody was around. She touched so many peoples lives from the gentleman that work with us. To the Fedex and UPS men that brought her treats everyday.
Missy has been threw some incredible events in her life and has always made it through...... I just thought she would be here forever... I today lost my faithful companion, my security and that unconditional love that only a friend this dear can give.
My sympathy..sounds like a GREAT friend, she'll always be with you and your family. I do not know you, but you said it all, not much left for me to say. When its time for us to go all one can bring with them are memories. e
Caspers Jubilee it is nice to see you on the forum but not under such sad circumstances. I am so sorry to hear about Missy but it sounds as if when she was rescued by your sister she truly began her life one filled with love and happiness. God bless Missy and the family that loved her.
I'm sorry for your loss. I just lost my Missy too, and a wise forum member told me to write down all those little things that she did that were special, sometimes things that I may not have noticed so much when she was with us, but miss so much now that she's gone.
It does sound as though she had a wonderful and full life as a member of your family.
Awe, C.J.. I am so sorry to hear of Missy's passing! She was ceratinly lucky to have found your family that filled her life with such warmth, joy & unconditional love daily. She's now at the bridge, free of any pains or discomforts she may have had. You'll be in my thoughts & prayers.
I did not realise the impact that Missy not only had on our family's life but all the customers that Missy has greeted over the years.
The shop was very busy today and almost every customer asked where she was?? one Burly gentleman even had a treat for her and was in tears as I had to tell him of her passing. making today an emotional one not just for me.
Thanks again for all your words of comfort!! Jubilee
Sorry to hear about your loss. I have a dalmation mix who is the most wonderful dog in the world. When I got her 5 yrs ago she had previously been abused also. She has seizures and has to take medicine for it daily but otherwise does well. My family & I do fostering for local rescue groups and lost one of three puppies in a litter to parvo altho we're treating it the best we can. I know my story is nothing compared to your loss but I do feel your pain, I've been thru it so many times and the only thing that gets me through it is knowing that they're in a better place and will never have to suffer..
CJ, I'm sorry to read about Missy passing. It's never an easy thing, even when expected and prepared for. Sounds as if she has touched many peoples lives. It also sounds as though you've found the perfect resting spot for her too, where she can always look down on her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Casper-I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard this must be for you. Please know that my thoughts are with you. Even though I don't know you, I am always sad when I hear of someone loosing their faithful friend. Keep your chin up.
