some of you guys might remember me, i joined before i got a puppy. then when i got him i never went on again. well now, Charlie will be 1 on April 21st! he is very behaved most of the time. Recently, I don't know if he's got spring fever or what becausing he has these spasms of excitement. all of a sudden he'll come running from no where and jumping on your feet tackling them and biting them. my grandmother is living at our house while recovering from hip replacement and this is not the best situation. we are now just telling him no when he misbehaves like that but it doesnt seem to be helping. i think that he thinks 'no' means, wanna play?
Yes, she is exactly right. Georgie sometimes will steal something just to have us chase her. The best way to get it back is to ignore her. When it doesn't get the desired results, they stop. On the other hand, it is good to reinforce good behavior. We usually don't pay any attention to the dog that is occupying itself with a bone or something else, but it is good to let them know when they are being good too.
Sometimes when we are playing Georgie will go after my feet too. She is little and that is why they call the little ones "ankle biters." I have not done anything about it because she only does it when we are playing chase and then usually only if I have fluffy slippers on or something interesting to her.
thanks for replying! my mom has a bad habit of picking him up when he does that, which i think is bad because he wants to get picked up after all. we will try to ignore him and if that doesn't work, i'll use a spray bottle. thanks again. =D
