Hi, I am getting a dog shipped here. I would fly there but I dont think the plane will let me take a dog up to where you sit. The fligh the breeder planned has a layover andwe wont get the puppy until 11:00 PM and isa 2 hour drive for us from the airport to our house. Is it possible to check online for a different puppy flight? Thanks!

The only way the puppy can go on board with people is with you or if you pay extra for the flight. Maybe you can fly to the puppy, then have puppy on board with you coming back. As long as the puppy will fit under the seat then it will work. If it's a big pup/dog,,,, You can call the airlines yourself and get all the info that you need.... Good luck!!!!!
I just brought a dog from SC to Jersey. I looked into the airlines and they had some restrictions. The dog had to be over a certain age The dog had to be vet certified to fly If the dog was under a certain weight it could fly in the cabin with me if over it had to be craited as cargo The temp had to be above 45 deg. on the ground at all locations take off, destination and any stops
It was a 13 hour drive and witht he stops it would have been 6 hours by plane and the temps in Jersey were below 45 so I just rented a SUV and made the drive.
I just brought a dog from SC to Jersey a couple weeks ago. The airlines had restrictions.
The dog had to be vet certified for flight The dog had to be over a certain age If the dog was under a certain weight it could fly in the cabin and placed under the seat If the dog was over a certain size it flew as cargo If it flew as cargo the ground temps in all stops and takeoff points had to be above 45 deg.
All above also was based on the size of the airports and what size plane was able to land there.
Sorry for duplicate postings. I received a server error message with the first posting

a lady at work had her kids pick up there pup from AZ, and they carried it on, as carry on luggage. also if you have the pup shipped, have the breeder give you flight number, time, which airports it is leaving and flying into. also have them contaced you when they have dropped the puppy off. I did all of this when i shipped a pup two weeks ago, make for less stress all the way arround. also aa has a number you can call and it will call you back with flight up dates.
ps when a pup is shipped by it self you have to pick it up at a different location than you would normal luggage, call they airline and they will give you directions
