Which one do people prefer Frontline are advantage because I find none of them work? I find when I bathe my dog with the advantage she had more fleas again, and they said you can bathe her with a non soap shampoo and when I did she had more fleas and they said you can bathe them with that stuff on and some people say that it washes away the effectivess of it. So with the Frontline Plus also after I washed her I find that she had more fleas again. Well let me know what do you think to tell you truth none of these products work to me.
How often do you bathe your dog? Frontline plus is more water resistent than Advantage, it's true. You are really wasting your money if you put on advantage and then bathe your dog, all you're doing is washing hte effects right off the dog.
You shouldnt' bathe the dogs either 24-48 hours before or after appling either frontline or advantage. In addition, if you stil lhave fleas in your house, they will jump on the dog.. and it does take a few hours for the fleas to die from frontline especially. Have you treated your yard and house for fleas, or just your dog? Flea eggs drop off the dog and germinate in cusions, carpet, creavasses in clothing, etc. If you want it all dead, you have to treat it all, in addition to the dog.
I use Frontline Plus, and like minniyar said, don't bathe your dog for about 2 days. It works great for my Dane and Yorkie. Also treat your yard and house. It will make life a lot easier. Good luck on everything!!
I use Frontline + because it's also for ticks, I give them all garlic, you can add Brewer's yeast to their food and you can make the following mixture and use it on your dogs and yourself. 20 drops each of the following in a one quart spray bottle filled with water:
rose geranium oil tea tree oil lavendar oil
Even using Frontline + or Advantage, fleas and ticks can get on your dogs but will die when biting your dog and sucking the blood that has the poison of the medicine in it. I would definitely not wash any of my dogs for at least a week after putting the Frontline + on them.
With the previous mixture solution the fleas and ticks will not even get on your dogs as they don't like the smell on their fur, DO NOT get it in their eyes, obviously!! I find it works to keep mosquitoes away also.

I have been using Frontline on Duke and Allie and Revolution on Monica (kitty) since December, when we got a flea invasion. I haven't seen a flea on them since! However, as for ticks and such, I just pulled one off of Duke, and I pull one off about twice a week or so. They latch on, they just don't bite. So I just pluck them off with our pair of tweezers that are for the dogs and put the tick in rubbing alcohol, and watch it die. >D Then after I do that, I get a new shot-glass of (rubbing) alcohol (you thought I drank alcohol!?!?) and soak the tweezers in that for a day or so.

i guess they are both good products. i use advantage because my vet reccommended it. i use the once a month treatment that comes in the little tube.my dogs and house are flealess. i'm a little leary because one of the girls on another forum said her dog got deathly sick from frontline . so i stick to the advantage cause it works for my crew
