My little puppies are 3 female and one male. I love my little babies i have people interested and want my puppies but the dont want to pay to much or want them for free. I know that I can sell them for 800 or more they are going to be small like there parents Mom is a maltese 6 pounds and the dad is a Yorkie also 6 pounds. but I dont want to hurt anyone in my family by telling them no or that they have to pay more for them what should I do.
Do your best to carefully screen all homes that your puppies go to. Make any one who gets one sign a written contract that states that you will take the puppy back at any point in its life if it is unwanted, in lieu of it ending up in a humane society. And make everyone sign agreements that they will get the dog spayed/neutered before it is 1 year old, and that they will never breed the dog so that no more mixed breed dogs are added to the already bursting at the seams animal shelters.
Then spay and neuter your own dogs, so you don't have to do it again heh. Your dogs will be far happier and healthier spayed/neutered.. especially if you haven't done any health testing on your dogs before breeding them already. Why breed dogs for no other purposes other than either to make money or because the puppies are cute? That just adds to the already existing overpopulation problem.

Not to be rude, and maybe I missed something here but who says she did not test their health before breeding? This is the one problem i have found being here-new people come on with questions, and without giving much advice ppl are wuick to give their opinion and judge that person. I am not accusing anyone in particular it is just my observation of the whole site. i like TP and will continue to visit, i just do not want new ppl scared off you are really looking for advice.
Merk, the sad thing is here on TP we get a lot of one timers making one post & then leaving all for the sake of stiring the pot. Some are former members that get banned from TP & others just like to go into any forum for the sole purpose of starting arguments. You'll soon be able to catch on & notice what topics are meant to stir the pots verses legit questions. By the way welcome Merk to TP. :)

people ask advice ? then they should be able to handle the responses they get. what is a "morkie" a glorified "mutt" and she is saying she should be able to get 800 dollars for them ? get real . go back and read some of the posts on here. there are so many people breeding away . all kinds of mixes .why? they are not doing it for the dogs sake. most are young inexperienced people who havent a clue what the heck they are even doing. people need to leave the breeding to the experienced breeders. who are breeding PUREBRED dogs for the betterment of the breed ! not a bunch of mix and match dogs that more often than not end up in the shelters. and if they dont like the heat ....get out of the fire. i have seen enough of what happens to all these puppies that people are breeding away to get and it is NOT PLEASANT !
i think this being a discussion forum it's good to give out more info than asked for. it wasn't done in a put down way, just giving info on what to do. when dog food questions are asked people add in all kinds of info on what is good and what isn't and what to look for and info on different brands, it's good to put that in breeding questions too.
$800 seems awfully high for a mix but I wouldn't doubt it. I breed Toy and Standard Poodles, and we don't ask that much for our pet quality Toys. I'm breeding the wrong thing I guess! Oh...that's right! We're not in it for the money. I could understand maybe $500 if the parents are tested for hereditary faults in both breeds and you give a health guarantee against those diseases showing up in your puppies. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll probably get the price you want, but at what cost to the puppies, buyers and most importantly to the two that you used to produce the offspring.
Some people who have come on this site are just getting into breeding. I know most breeders had to get started somewhere but not by crossbreeding. I only paid $500 - 600 for both my pure breed maltese. I wouldn't have paid $800 for a mix no matter how cute they are. I know my Maltese just had puppies & we were only going to give them to close friends & family who we knew would be responsible owners. I didn't want my babies to go to strangers just to make a buck. Everyone has always loved my dogs, like most all breeders we were doing it for love of the breed.

The pet store in our mall charges $600 for Yorkie Poos and around the same for most "designer breeds". Way below what they charge for any purebreds. The pet store is always way overpriced compared to what breeders usually charge. $800 is way too much to expect for a mixed breed.
If she is serious, I think she will be seriously disappointed.
Probably cute puppies though. I hope you are taking proper care of them.
Just wanted to give you an update on my puppies I placed in add and got 5 hits. My Male puppy is being sold for 1200 to a wondeful family. My bosses neighbor is purchasing my female for 1500. I have decided to give my Mother in Law a female for free. So they already have found homes when they are 12 weeks old. I have one female left. I appreciate all your comments. I have a pure breed Yorkie Female to put with my Yorkie male I never had any intensions to put my Maltese with my yorkie it happened and I delt with it the proper way by getting them great homes all my pets have been tested and they are all healthy.
My maltese is going to get fixed in a month so that this doesnt happen again. I love my babies I have 4 dogs 3 turtles a bearded dragon and 2 hedgehogs I am a animal lover I dont breed for the money I am not a breeder I am a home owner that loves her babies and they are spoiled. I know that they are going to families that are going to love them like I do. I can see them when ever I want. So that makes me very happy. I think that I will give the other female to my brother I know that they will love her and take great care of her. I am happy with the homes and out come.
sassymad wrote: I am a animal lover I dont breed for the money What do you call getting 1500. 00 for a mutt then if you are not into it for the money...I cant believe that ...if any one paid that much..i have some swamp land to offer them ...
For your information I never gave this lady a price for my puppies my boss told her that amount because she wanted a Morkie she saw them on a site called Divapups.com in Northern NJ. So she told him that she would pay that amount. Thank you very much if u want to get technical.
i do want to get technical. if you mix a dog. breeding different parents does not make the litter a breed. it takes little more science than that. you need to have distinct set genes. something predicatable. correct me my fellow TPers if i am wrong, this usually takes about 7 generations. now i no if you breed a lab with a pit bull. all the pups may look the same. while if you take the same breeds of two different mates. the puppies will different than litter A.

Case in point Sassy. You have no problem accepting this 1500.00 (yeah right) for this little mutt now do you? Just because YOU didnít tell the price your boss did makes no different. It is called gouging. You had an unexpected litter. (Yeah right) and should have found good pet homes and not took the first few "hits' from an ad to unload them for ungodly prices...That is called...Making money off of your poor pets...Plain and simple. Now.if you would have had an unexpected litter by accident. You might have "placed them" for 50 to 100 bucks and made the adoptee sign a spay neuter contract for them...no since in perpetuating more mutts...right? But...You have homes for most and they cost an arm and a leg. There is no way you cant tell me you didnít do it souly for the money...so. Im being techical.and I am calling it like I see it...Your the only person I know making such a profit on breeding...I guess all the money I "threw away on health testing, proper vet care, food and nutrition is all for nothing. I should just get me a recipe and make morkies. I think not...And Iím just being technical...Thank you...
