Parma man attacked by 3 dogs in yard dies, was 82 Monday, April 25, 2005 Parma- Ernie Assad, 82, died Sunday at Parma Community General Hospital, 11 days after three dogs attacked him.
Parma police continue to investigate the attack, which occurred after a pit bull, an American bulldog and a Cane Corso rushed up his driveway. Assad family members said he had two brain surgeries to relieve blood clots and had been partially paralyzed after the attack.
Assad, a Parma resident for more than 50 years, was watering plants in his back yard when the dogs escaped from a nearby home. The pit bull and bulldog are owned by Darnell Sanders, a former player for the Cleveland Browns who was out of town and had asked a friend to care for them. The third dog is owned by Dominick Gruttadauria.
Gruttadauria's sister, Natalie, took the pit bull and bulldog to her brother's home where they joined the Cane Corso.
Last week, Parma asked the Berea prosecutor to review possible charges in the case because the daughter of Parma Municipal Court Clerk Marty Vittardi, Jessica, is in a relationship with Dominick Gruttadauria.
Facts will be presented to the Berea prosecutor after an autopsy is performed to determine cause of death, said Powell Caesar, Parma spokesman.
Not too make light of a tradgedy but it is now easy to see why the Cleveland Browns haven't made the playoffs in a long while. Got your funny emails...lol. Again inappropriate comment on my behalf just saw your name and wanted to say howdy. e
Seems like there's a lot of info missing from that article to me, but I feel bad for the guy, when you get up there in age, it's not so easy to bounce back from things a younger person would/could have.
