Well, this morning started with Beau and Arwen having a laugh at my expense! I was looking for my cell phone, to charge it. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. Had it last night, but no could find. Dogs fast on my heels, running through the house playing hide and seek with the stupid thing.

I got my hubby's phone and paged mine. Both dogs stopped in their tracks, heads titled, trying to figure out why THEY could hear it and I couldn't.

After an hour, I finally gave in (didn't want to wake hubby) and alerted the darned thing. Both dogs went into the kitchen and sat, looking over their shoulders at me.

Figured I'd thrown it in the garbage, something I might do. Nope. The thing was going off, I couldn't see it, but the dogs were just sitting like roadblocks in front of the fridge. Yup! That's where it was. It was in the bad with the Wendy's salad I'd picked up last night. I'm teeling you, those dogs were looking at me like I was nuts and I SWEAR they were laughing!

Go on, laugh~ geesh...Sunday I was pulling weeds. Mom called, talked to her for a bit, hubby came out, had to make (another) run to Home Depot. He came back about 30 minutes later, holding the cordless phone. Seems I'd left it sitting on the hood of the van. He noticed it as it flew off when he turned the corner.

Wouldn't have been so bad this morning, if the dogs hadn't thought it was some new game we were playing! I had not had a cup of coffee, although both of them had enjoyed a morning run and a quick breakfast. We see who counts in THIS household! Must admit, I fail to see the humor in MOST things at 4 a.m. before my 1st cup of coffee.

The game consisted of...run from room to room on mom's heels. Stop and inspect the piles of things dad has left around, run ahead, turn back, circle mom, herd her this way and that. Play RCA Victrola doggies...tilt those heads! Sit in front of fridge, KNOWING the stupid thing is in there, but mom just DOESN'T get it!

I SWEAR to you, they were BOTH laughing at me! They really were. See who gets treats today~bah humbug! I wouldn't put it past Arwen to have figured out how to get the thing in the fridge, just to mess with me. I'm sure she did it, I know I certainly couldn't have done anything so remarkably stupid!

that's funny. they probably thought you were stupid or something. my cat does the same thing. i know he laughs on the inside!!!

You've seen those cartoons where the dogs are rolling on the floor, holding their sides and laughing like crazy. Envision that. It's pretty close! They didn't have the courtesy to laugh on the inside, I could hear their snickers~ monsters. lol

lol, thats so funny, its good to know that i am not the only one to do such absent minded things....

If I had a quarter for everytime that I have left my cell, or keys or house phone in the fridge...I would buy a house by now!

I once picked up some food from the local deli, stayed home and studied for 2 days straight....then remembered that I had food in the fridge, and when i opened the bag...there was my cell, wallet and keys, all cold and smelly.

it seems like keys and related things get left iin fridges alot. happened to my hubbies keys once. i think my son, who was a toddler at the time, actually put them in there for him.

i once borrowed a book from a co worker and must have put it on my trunk for a second and forgot about it . drove all the way home, 12 miles, and didnt even think about it til i got out of my car and saw it on the trunk. thank god for spoilers !!!!

That was a great story! I know about dogs stealing cell phones. When we first got our dog, Perch. My fiance "thought" he left his cell on the coffee table. He came in the bedroom at 3 a.m. and asked me where it was, how did I know, I had been sleeping for hours. In my half sleep, I told him to look under the bed the puppy probably stole it (forgetting to tell him the puppy stole my phone earlier that day). Of course he didn't believe me. Finally I was tired of hearing it ringing and I looked under the bed, there it was, a nice silver phone with teeth marks and a missing antenna! If the puppy wasn't so cute, I am sure he would have yelled at her. :)

None of my crew has ever tried to eat one of the cell phones, however...two digital cable remote controls and a brnd new cordless phone were sacraficed to the teething Gods!

lol Pyr....they were trying to help you out..probably thinking once you opened that fridge, they'd get a nice little treat. Good thing you didn't call the repair man to come fix the beeping the fridge was making!

oh can i relate to the absent mindedness and the teething gods. the first thing sacrificed to the teething gods was none other than our baby monitor. and of course it couldnt have been the cheap one we have it had to be the one that went along with the video screen. and i cant even think of all the things put in the fridge, let me tell you having a new baby and 2 puppies is about enough to make anyone think they were nuts. i was putting groceries away and put the new container of laundry soap in the fridge and the milk in the laundry room, the whole fam had a good laugh at that one!!

Absent minded . . . . . Nah. I can just picture two Pyrs sitting in front of the refer, with the "Well?" expression on their lovely faces. We had teething problems with my husbands glasses. Had to replace the frames. Fortunately, the lenses were safety glass. That was Riki. Raja pulled the cordless phone out of it's cradle and chewed off the little antenna. Strange thing is all her teeth were in. lol She also likes to chew holes in the comforter and pull the stuffing out. I think she picked this up from Riki chewing holes in the toy balls and pulling the stuffing out.
