Matt (b/f) got Joe a new tag a while back, and I was just going to get a regular one with name, address, etc and he put on the first line Joe AKA BIGNOSE (we call him that more than Joe) and the last line says "Feed him well....He loves it" ha! Sophie's tags aren't as special. ha! I was going to get a smaller one for him but I thought it was too funny to not keep.
Oh yeah, it has the address and state in between the funny lines. Neither have a phone number (couldn't fit or forgot it) but they have their rabies tags, Sophie's with a # to the humane society and Joe's with the vets number.
lol, my dog loves the car. Whenever we get in he immediatly gets in the drivers seat and waits for me. Thought the lisence was perfect! Wonder what a cop would do if I gave it to him when I get pulled over?? hehehe
Riley used to sit in my lap when I drove, but now he is too big. But if I ever sit in the passenger seat he will sit on my lap no matter what I do! It's ok when he is actually sitting, but he will stand on me to look out the window and I can't breath!!
My dog has a hyphenated last name because me being a woman of the 21st century kept my last name when I got married. Actually I was to lazy to go to the DMV and change it :) But that is about as crazy as it got for us. Yet our friends make fun of us for it.
I didnt put my dogs name on the id tag, my fiance doesnt want anyone to steal him and then know his name. All I have is our names, adress and phone number on the tag.
Not that Logan is off leash in an open area, its that someone stole my fiances' 6-month-old german shepherd out of his back yard at night once, while the poor thing was doing his business, about 10 years ago. So now he's paranoid.
It really doesn't matter if your dog is stolen if your dogs name is on the tag or not. The person who stole the dog would most likely rename it anyhow.
And, unless you have taught your dog not to pick up food from the ground, and not to take treats from strangers a yummy piece of food and a 'here boy lets go' is often sadly enough to lure a dog without knowing their name.
It's scary..the thought of someone taking your dog...
A few nights ago a dark figure was in our yard, Riley went insane! I never heard him bark like that before, he was growing and had a very deep deep bark - which is a first. I saw the figure run from the yard and go down the street. I think it was just our neighbors though - they like to cut across our yard to get to theirs.
But Riley just loves everyone. He will go up and lean against anybody he sees and kiss them and hug them.
I have so many nicknames for my pets and kids...they could prolly guess! On a more serious note, I do add the name because I figure my pet would be scared already and if I can make the experience any easier... God forbid they're stolen, it might be easier on them if called & consoled by name.
