My friend's little pom never got used to riding in the car. She tried everything, even something to relax her but she always got sick. Maybe sometimes it can be nerves too. Mine cry on the way to the vets. They don't get sick, but they are very nervous and then going home they are fine.
When Dalia was a puppy she used to get car sick but she grew out of it. You can try putting a magnet under your dog when you are in the car, we did it with Dalia and my friend does it with her JRT puppies and it has really helped. Magnets work on some dogs like they work on some people, hopefully they will work on yours :)
Hi, There are a few little tricks you can try. Some may work and some may not. First try letting your pup sit in the car without going anywhere. Try this a few times a week. Give lots of praise. Then progress to short trips around the block etc. Then gradually go further. Try putting the pup in a small kennel. Some dogs get sick by seeing things go by when looking out the window. If that doesn't work then try letting the puppy look out the window. With my Holly, we have to let her look out. If she's not able to see out then she starts to drool then eventually vomits. Give lots of praise.. but don't "baby" the puppy. Eventually, with time your puppy should get used to traveling in the car. :)
