hello, about 2 weeks ago one of my dogs started peeing in my bed.(stop laughing!!) i have 3 dogs. one of them is old and does not get into my bed. the other 2 are boxers. one, 4 yrs old and the other one 7 months. we allow them to sleep with us. about 2 weeks ago one of them started peeing in the bed!!! not while we are in it. i do not think that they have a inconteniece problem. they don't do it on e the floor. why would she do this??? how do i take care of this????
no. i thought of that. but no, nothing. except that i have taken the puppy to the farm with me. i am a horse trainer and i was taking her before it got really cold out. i recently started taking her again. but to be honest with you i think it is her not the other boxer.
I would say your best solution is to keep them all of your bed all together. It can cause a number of problems, including dominance issues and since they seem housetrained otherwise, it would mean no accidents.
If you would rather have them on the bed then personally I'm not sure what to tell you. If you're not sure which dog it is, there could be a problem there as well. Maybe one of them is trying to cover up the scent of the other with urine.
Me? I'd just start closing my bedroom door and making them sleep in a different room.
yes, both of the boxers can get into bed by themselves. i like having them in bed with me. they are very cuddley. they are for the most part very good sleepers and they love being there. i love it too. why would one of them be doing this??? how do i stop it???
dook, how do you have such a positive attitude towards bad puppy behavior? teach me please! Coach peed on his bed tonight, it really upset me because lately he's been so good. he even learned how to hit a bell by the door when he needs to go out. my sis, her dog and my mom were here as well. he is so good with just me, but when other people are around, he acts up. why???
Tosamom have you taken him for obedience training? He probably acts up because he believes the visitors are to see him, not you. Seriously.
Regarding the peeing in the bed, dogs will pee in beds to mark territory. I know your dogs are cuddly but if any dog ever peed in my bed, it'd never be allowed on the bed or in the bedroom again. What sex are the dogs and are they altered?

I dont know why ur dog is peeing on ur bed, but i thought id share a funny story. My friend has a chihuahua, a male. When she first adopted him he would sleep on her bed with her. One day, she tells me that she wakes up at 3 in the morning, looks up and sees her dogs stomach on top of her face......he lifts up his leg and pees. I thought she was lying at first, but no, because he did it to me too, when i slept at her house, my first time there. I felt like a pledge in a sorority......;) Dont know why he did that, but he only did it once to her and once to me. Maybe he was marking his territory...but he is a very cool dog.
I was just speaking with my Mom, she has a new rescued dog from the shelter. New dog has only been in her home three days and last night he wet all over her bed. I suspect this is from newness and a correctable problem, including barring him from her room, but, on ocassioan I have had dogs who did this because of a medical reason. One dog I remember had a kidney infection, another a bladder disease, so I am going to suggest to her she check with the vet. Just a suggestion on bed wetting pups.
When my bed is peed on (more common then msot of us think) its almost always a domaince or marking display.
Yes I seperate the two of them. I've had young dogs decide to try to up their rating in hte pack and start trying to pee on my bed. That gets nipped in the bud and their butts in the crate.
The second one is some of hte mid ranking dogs in our house mark the bed. Remember, your bed smells like you, very very strongly so. A dog, who uses scent markings as part of belonging to the pack may pee on something to join into the membership basicly.
I have two that can not come into my room because they will pee on my bed or clothing and come back to me very thrilled to have joined into the scent marking.
I am new here, I do not know if you have ever saw this product before but I saw at j b wholesale pet supplies (i think) there is a product that works something like a diaper but it is to stop dogs from marking, and any other driping or just plain old peeing. It looks like a wide piece of material that goes around the dogs middle (for boys) and like a diaper for girls. If you had something like this on one of them the you could find out witch one it is. My schnauzer sleeps with me too. I would try to find another solution before I put them out of your bed. That may cause more problems.
It certainly could be a dominance issue however, its also possible its a housetraining issue with the 7 month old. For instance, I have raised alot of puppies. (I am a Basenji breeder.) Most go through a stage where they are pretty much housetrained but then they backslide and "forget" how to signal me they have to go out. They understand to not relieve themselves on the floor as that is already ingrained so in their confusion of what to do, they will jump up on the couch or chairs and relieve themselves there. If this happens, I back up a step in housetraining then and physically take the pup outside to positively reinforce exactly where it is supposed to relieve itself. This problem usually is corrected very quickly.
You might want to back up a step and positively reinforce the youngest Boxer when he should be relieving himself outside. I would also recommend keping the bedroom door shut when no one is in there to watch the dogs.

i have 4 little dogs. the 1st was a male minipin i got as a puppy, 2nd a female minipin i got as a puppy, 3rd a little stray black dog male around 1 year old when i got him, and a month ago i got a female mini pin puppy who is now 3months old. i think it was around 9 months ago we got the stray, hes very sweet, but my male mini pin kinda pushes him around, i had my bed peed in today. i had a matress topper so it did not reach the bed, but im out the 80$ for the topper.it was a memory foam topper and i really loved it.and pooped on bed too. i know it wasnt my puppy cause shes still being crate trained.i think it might had been the stray because my male minipin wont let him in the bed when i sleep. but my husband snores so he sleeps in the other bedroom. and the stray usually goes and sleepes with him while the 2 minipins sleep with me and the puppy sleeps in the crate for now. he went in it while we were at work.now hes in the crate. im really mad at him, but i think its cause my male minipin is soo pushy with him, does anyone know how to get the mini pin to stop pushing him around?the female minipin is much less bossy and the puppy just loves everyone and everyone just loves the puppy.i really think the problem is just between the boys. and they are fixed. also , they usually use the doggie door to potty but its been raining latley and they wont go out side when it rains. i have wood floor and they pee on the little throw mats. i dont know what to do. people think im crazy to have 4 dogs but they are my best friends, and my family.i love them very much, why are they being bad , i know they know better. and how do you get an alpha dog to chill out? thankyou for your help :-)
I travel for work. I have 5 cats, 1 dog (now) 2 birds and one fish. One of my cats will pee in or on my suitcase if I leave it anywhere where she can do that when I get home. She has peed inside it and on top of it. It makes me furious. I have had to replace luggage several times.
So now when I get home if I cannot unpack right away I put it in my closet or somewhere where she cannot get to it. Then I unpack and get the suitcase put up right away.
She does not like me to leave and I think it is because she is upset or mad. None of my other animals do this. She is also my most passive pet of the bunch.
I raise boxers and it's funny (okay not when it's happening) but I have had some peeing incidents lately. I stay home with the kids and dogs and I think the dogs are getting a little too friendly with me in the house. My 5 month old that was perfectly house trained peed in my bed twice, so she is back in the crate when not supervised, and then my 3 year old stud dog peed on me. As in lifted his leg and peed on my leg. I was like 'what they heck!!!!' I grabbed him by the collar shook him a little (he weighs 75lbs) I said 'Bad, bad, no,no and threw him outside for the day to think about it. I think my guy was having territory issues over me with my husband- who was also standing right in front of me. I kind of take it in stride. I tried telling my dog that I think of him more as a son, and that I have a husband already. I hope he gets it, otherwise I can always neuter him (just kidding).
