i really have to thank you. it has been more then a month now and scout has not missed 1 meal. she has eaten everything in her bowl except for maybe a mouthful here and there. i think he absolute favorite is the granny's pot pie as that seems to have the most chicken in it per can. she has gained 5 pounds since she has been eating it and looks fantastc. she never looked underweight but very lean. now she has filled out some and looks awesome. she has never been a great eater and has often gone days without touching her food.
i just have to say thanks again. my baby is looking fantastic and i owe it to all you guys.
You're so welcome Scout. I worked the Crest-Care booth at a Pet Expo this weekend and one of the vendors was giving away free samples of the dry food...naturally I got some. The next day there was a different person working their booth and he caught me talking with a visitor about how wonderful Merrick foods are (and all their products) and he gave me 12 cans of Wing-A-Ling for helping him make sale. Can't beat that with a stick. LOL
As for cat food, I believe they do make a cat food and would assume it's just as high quality, but I'm not a cat person (highly allergic) so I'm not positive.
I just bought some this weekend. The dry & the canned. Mine LOVE it too. My male is a very picky eater too & also can go days with out eating. He loves the Merick though. My female is the little miss piggy & loves it of course. The store I went to only had canned cat food but said they would start carryng the dry cat sooh. I don't have cats but I thought of my mom's cats. Merrick is not cheap however! The canned dog food was $1.92 per can & a 5 lb of dry was $13.00. Thanks too to all that brought this to light. It's great stuff! :)
Me too! I have been feeding my bullie the Merrick Puppy Platter Dry and every now and then mix the canned in. His favorite is the Wingaling. I was shocked when I opened that can up. I have never been tempted to taste dog food but I almost couldn't resist. There were three entire chicken wings in the can. I just ordered some more today along with a bunch of different chews and treats. He also likes the turducken and puppy platter canned but he goes crazy for the wingaling. He whines and jumps up and down before I give it to him. He's never done that for any other food.
You're very welcome Scout.....I'm so glad everyone is taking to Merrick!!! Im glad that everyone's dogs are eating just as healthy as Logan is ;)...he is growing like grass!!! Everyone compliments me on his coat, his eyes are bright and even the vet is impressed with his overall appearance...Like i was saying all along...You spend a little more on food now...and a little less on vets later.!!!!!!! Everyone should feed their dogs human grade food! Imagine if we ate the intestines of a cow that died of cancer????? How long do you think our life spans would be?
On a better note..... I just found a pet store, where a 12 can of Merrick is $18.99....and the best part is...you can pick out your own variety!!!! If anyone lives in Brooklyn NY I can give the store, but i searched long and hard to find this food cheap.... in many stores.
Oh and before i discovered Merrick, Logan would flat out just not eat, for days at a time, he lost weight, and became slightly thin...to say the least. I tried everything including adding water, broth, egg, gravy ...whatever, he still wouldnt eat. Now i mix 1/3 of a can with a cup of dry food 3 times a day...and then microwave it. Yeah i know he is spoiled.....but he is cute, mine and I love him !!!!!!

Dana, yeah they have cat food, canned many different flavors, but my cats dont like it. When i mixed it in with their dry food, they picked out all the dry bits and left the canned food. Im going to wait until Merrick comes out with dry food for cats, this summer i think.
Like I said earlier. I feed my 6 month old english bulldog the puppy plate dry. I have never smelled a dry dog food and thought that it smelled even close to good. The dry puppy plate actually almost has a pleasant smell to it. It smells much better than the Nutro I was feeding him. Anyway, it has actual chunks of turducken, peas, carrots, apple and potato. These are all added after the kibble is cooked so they retain their nutritional value. Every now and then, for a special treat I mix some of the canned with his dry. I have tried the wingaling, turducken, puppy plate and mediterranean. He likes the wingaling the best. At first I was scared of the Wingaling because it has actual whole pieces of chicken (bone included) and I was always told chicken bones can splinter. But, they cook it so the bone is soft and chewable.
The only negatives are he has a little more gas than he had when he was eating the Nutro and his poop is a little runny after he eats the canned. But it is not too runny where I will stop feeding him the canned because the ingredients are so good. I really want him to be healthy.
Also, if you go to their website, you can enter your pet's name and birthday and they will send your pet a treat and birthday card on their birthday. I thought this was a cool idea.
Same here. Rudy actually prefers the dry to the wet which surprises me but he eats the grannys pot pie potatoes, carrots, peas and all! I would also like to thank everyone as I've had the same problems as scout. YAY! I know they make a cat food but haven't spotted it at the store I bought the dogs at yet.
Merico I found that it was actually more expensive from their website. I paid 45.99 for a 30lb bag and 2.50 a can in Hawaii. I think they wanted $60 for the 30lb bag on their website? They do have a store locator on their website, though the store I bought it at just got it in and it wasn't even listed on the website as carrying it yet. So I'd suggest lookign for a local one first and if no luck it's totoally worth having it shipped.
The Merrick site is SUPER expensive...the "free" shipping is rolled into the price. I found a site with good prices and ordered some last night...but I don't think I can post the site address??? I will if I get an OK from a mod....
I love the store locators, they take you to stores you never knew exsisted. I think its ok to post because the above Merrick site is a place to purchase food too.
Now with the chicken wings, do they just break in half from cooking well. I am sort of at a loss on what to give my newest poodle to rid her of tear stains. I am trying blue bull right now, but she stains more it seems. I may give this a try, I know she likes it we tried samples.
